Chapter 7
That one statement stopped William in his tracks, as if his entire world had frozen in place.
Caitlin… was pregnant? Since when?
The realization struck him like lightning. He had given the order to drop the bomb for Lucy.. *that* bomb.
And Caitlin, pregnant with their child, had watched him deliver that very order.
Watched him carry Lucy away, leaving her behind to face the unimaginable.
What kind of torment was this? What sort of anguish could compare?
William’s mind spiraled. He had destroyed not only the love of his life but also their unborn
child–with his own hands.
Suddenly, Lucy sauntered into the hospital room, pouting playfully.
“Alpha, look at the scar on my chest. It’s ugly…” she whined, deliberately tugging her low–cut dress further down to reveal faint scars.
She struck a sultry pose, her eyes lighting up when they fell on Blake.
Blake.. the legendary Alpha of the Bloodwalker Pack.
His cold, enigmatic presence was as imposing as his reputation.
It was her first time meeting him, and she was dazzled.
Though William had always been her golden ticket, he paled in comparison to Blake’s brooding aura.
Lucy threw a flirtatious glance at Blake, then noticed another man in the room.
Dwent Mad
Chapter 7
She didn’t bother fixing her dress. Instead, she adjusted it downward, revealing even more.
Blake, unimpressed, didn’t spare her a glance.
Feeling rebuffed, Lucy turned away in disappointment, consoling herself.
*Never mind, William isn’t so bad.*
She reached for him, but his icy, murderous glare stopped her in her tracks.
The tension In the room was broken by warriors bursting in with victorious news.
“Congratulations, Alpha! We’ve wiped out Vampire’s lair completely!”
“Yes, the border is finally secure!”
Another chimed in, “The healer promised to reveal her true identity after our victory.
Where is she?”
The room fell silent as everyone sensed the charged atmosphere.
Blake’s voice cut through the quiet like a blade. “The healer is dead.”
The warriors froze, their joy replaced with shock.
Many owed their lives to the healer.
Silent tears welled up in their eyes.
Lucy, snapping out of her daze, scoffed.
“What’s the big deal? She wasn’t even on the battlefield. If she’s dead, that’s it.”
The air turned Icy as William’s gaze locked onto her. His voice was as cold as death. “*Dead
is dead*7”
Before anyone could react, he lunged, his hand closing around Lucy’s throat. His voice was
a roar of fury.
My Trade My Alphor Husband Went Mad
Chapter 7
“If you hadn’t been injured, I wouldn’t have rushed back! If you hadn’t seduced me, Caitlin wouldn’t have left me! Go to hell and apologize to Caitlin!”
back.
The warriors wrestled William off Lucy, their combined strength barely e
to hold him
As they restrained him, the horrifying truth began to dawn on everyone in the room.
Caitlin, their Luna, had been the healer.
The memories clicked into place.
The healer’s frantic efforts whenever William was injured, her selflessness, her unwavering
devotion.
It all made sense now.
Blake’s voice cut through the chaos, calm but piercing.
“Caitlin was captured because of a traitor in the army. Someone betrayed her position.”
All eyes turned to Lucy as her body stiffened.
She tried to slip away unnoticed, but Blake’s warrior grabbed her shoulder.
“Ms. Lucy, care to explain your motives?”
William stared at her, disbelief and fury battling in his eyes. “Lucy… what have you done?”
Lucy shook her head desperately. “No! It’s not true! Let me explain, William, please!”
Blake pulled a hard drive from his pocket and handed it to William.
“The evidence is here. You decide what to do with the traitor.”
William reviewed the contents, each image and message cutting deeper than the last.
Lucy’s manipulation was laid bare.
Chapter 7
Her lies, her betrayal, her role in driving Caitlin away.
His heart ached as he imagined Caitlin’s pain upon seeing those messages.
He stormed into the interrogation room, his presence radiating hostility.
Lucy broke under his relentless questioning, confessing everything.
“I was turned by those vampires, but I fell in love with you, William! I did it all for you! They promised to leave me alone if I succeeded.”
William’s response was ice–cold. “Who do you think you are? I already had Caitlin. Why would I ever want you?”
His voice grew harsher. “If it weren’t for you, Caitlin wouldn’t have died. We would still have our child.”
His rage consumed him as he raised a silver pistol, aiming it at Lucy’s head. “Go to hell and make amends.”
The gunshot echoed, but Lucy remained unharmed.
Instead, William crumpled to his knees, tears streaming down his face.
The moonstone ring Lucy was wearing shattered, its magic protecting her from a deadly attack.
William stared at the fragments, his grief overwhelming.
If only he had given Caitlin this moonstone ring instead of a diamond one.
If only he had protected her when she needed him most.
He stumbled home, clutching the diamond ring she had left behind.
It was their wedding anniversary–the third one.
She had promised a surprise, and now he realized what it had been. The baby. Their baby.
Chapter
-But he had killed her. Killed them both.
“No one blames me,” he whispered bitterly, “but I know the truth. I killed Caitlin.”
He searched their home for traces of her, his heart breaking anew with each reminder.
“Don’t be afraid, my love,” he murmured to the empty room. “I’m coming to you.”
He loaded a silver bullet into the gun, place the diamond ring near his heart.
As he raised the weapon, a growl reverberated through his mind.
“Stop, William!” his wolf, Lorne, snarled. “You’ve lost your mind! Don’t you feel it? The bond
isn’t broken!”
William froze, the gun trembling in his hand.
Lorne’s voice softened, filled with hope. “Caitlin’s alive. We can find her somehow.”
