He nods, “Ok, I will have guards the all the time. I understand it can be hard. Finding the balance between wolf, human, and mate is tricky. Especially when your mate doesn’t know.
Speaking of, did she see the rogue?”
“Yes, it was the middle of the night and she went to get some water. I went after her a few minutes later and I saw her looking at the wolf through the window.”
“What did she do?” He asks.
“Well, she didn’t know that I saw it, so she tried to convince me she saw and animal with glowing eyes. I told her it was a wolf. She didn’t believe me, said there haven’t been wolves here in decades. I told her she just didn’t know about them and then took her back to bed before she could ask more questions.”
He nods, “Are you going to tell her soon? I don’t know how much longer you can hide this from her, especially with the rogue after her.”
“I don’t know. I just got her, I don’t want to scare her away. As for the rogue, I will just have to make sure shes is safe at all times.”
“Ok, that will do… for now. Eventually, she will have to know. You are meant to run the pack with your Luna in just a few years.”
I nod, “I know, I just need some more time.”
He nods.
“I am going to workout. I will talk to you later.”
“Ok, shut the door on your way out.”
I walk out and shut the door like he asked. Then, I change into a pair of basketball shorts and go to the basement. The whole floor in a gym that we uses to train. There is a boxing ring, punching bag, weights, weapons, anything you can think off.

I put my AirPods in and start to do push ups.
I need to protect Lee, which means I need to train harder than ever before.
Later that day
I just ate dinner and now I am ready to call Lee.
I pick up my phone, open the FaceTime app, and click on Lee’s name.
It rings for a few second before she picks up and I see her face. She is laying on her
stomach on her bed.
“Hey babe.” She says with a smile.
“Hey. How are you?” I ask.
She sighs, “Good, I just miss you.”
She put her head down into the bed and groans, “Ughhh why do I miss you like all the time.”
I laugh, “I miss you all the time too.”
She doesn’t understand that the mate bond makes our feeling a hundred times stronger. We will always wants to be together, and it will only get worse after I mark her… hopefully.
We talk for the next hour about everything. Its nice to just hear her voice.
She yawns and I look at the time. Its 11:30.
“Sweetheart, you have to go to bed. We have school tomorrow.”
She nods tiredly, “Ok, goodnight. I love you.”
I smile, “I love you too.”
She gives me a thread smile and kisses the camera, “Bye”

Then, we hang up.
I sigh and then get up to brush my teeth and get ready for bed.
After I am done, I lay down and turn the lights off. I try to fall asleep for about thirty minutes, but I can’t. My bed is uncomfortable… ok that’s a lie, it’s because Lee isn’t here.
I sigh and get up. I put on some socks and some running shoes and walk over to my window. Then, I open it and jump down from the second story. I land on my feet and take off running to Lee’s house through the woods.
It only took me about five minutes because I used wolf speed.
I see Lee’s glass doors and I walk towards them.
She is laying down and the light are off. I walk up the steps and softly knock on the window.
She quickly sits up and looks at the doors. I see her let out a breath when she sees its me. Then, she gets up and comes over to the door. She opens them and her eyes rake over my chest and abs before landing on my face.
“Hey, is everything ok?” She asks with a furrowed brow.
“I can’t sleep.”
She is silent for a few moments, “Uhh, ok. Come in.” She steps aside and I walk into her
room. I hear her close the door and I turn towards her.
I see her lock the door and then she looks at me. I sit on the edge of her bed and put my elbows on my knees. She walks over to me and stands in front of me. I pull her closer by the back of her thighs until she is in between my legs with my hands on her thighs and my
forehead on her sternum.
I sigh and she runs her hands through my hair, “Why can’t you sleep?” She asks quietly.
