Chapter 5
My soul could not leave Robert.
I was forced to go back with them.
Looking at the familiar room, the familiar arrangement.
My heart was filled with mixed feelings.
Robert walked around the room and didn’t see my figure.
He called me with a frown on his face.
I tried calling, but it was still an unreachable reminder even after multiple attempts.
“Robert.”
Shirley hesitated and said, “Carissa… did she run away from home?”
Robert’s face instantly darkened.
Shirley gently tucked the strands of hair that fell by her ear and said, “I am also worried about
Carissa. Being a woman out there, what if she encounters any trouble…”
Robert’s phone slammed onto the coffee table.
With a serious expression and an unhappy tone, she would not leave home.
Shirley seemed frightened.
His face turned pale.
Watching Shirley’s cautious appearance, Robert sighed and said, “Forget it, Carissa’s matter has
nothing to do with you. You should rest first.”
Shirley’s leg injury healed in just a few days without much rest.
She was flipping through my documents at home.
Seeing Robert, he tentatively spoke, “Robert, can I go to your company…”
Robert frowned, “Isn’t your current allowance enough?”
He spoke and proceeded to transfer money to Shirley.
Shirley covered his hand and said, “I didn’t mean it, Robert.”
hirley stacked my documents in front of him and said, “I’ve been bored these past few days, and I’ve learned all of these. Some of them are things I can handle, so I want to help you out.”

She watched him intently, “Even if it’s just a trivial matter.”
Robert remained noncommittal.
Shirley simply grabbed him and said, “Robert, I just returned to the country not long ago, I don’t know anything, could you please help me?”
Robert pinched his forehead in frustration and said, “Fine, go ahead if you like.”
“Then I’ll go back to Carissa’s previous position, that’s all I’ve learned…”
Robert hesitated for a moment before saying, “You go ahead and give it a try.”
