Chapter 5
Back then, Alisa was interning at a hotel.
One day, she met Ethan under the reminder of the system.
He didn’t look right at that time. She helped him into the room, but he pinned her down.
He stared at her with crimson eyes and said, “I wanted you.”
Actually, Alisa could have kicked him away, but she ultimately just let him manipulate her.
I knew that she willingly made the antidote for Ethan in order to finish the strategy early and save me from danger.
Because of me, Alisa ended up in this situation. I sat in the car, crying uncontrollably.
Suddenly, someone knocked on my car window.
“Lara?”
I trembled all over and turned my face incredulously, only to see a handsome face appearing in front of my eyes.
My lips trembled as I looked at him, guilt–ridden and uneasy, and cautiously called out, “Rayan?”
Rayan Aguilar, one of the iron triangle in the orphanage, was my childhood friend along with Alisa.
Later, he was adopted by a wealthy family, but even so, he always kept in touch with us.
They had once loved each other passionately.
If it weren’t for me, Alisa would have married him and had children.
At this thought, tears welled up in my eyes.
It was me. It was me who caused the lovers to be forced apart, it was me who led to Alisa’s tragic end
in her life.
I opened the car door and rushed out, grabbing Rayan’s clothes, chokingly saying, “I’m sorry, I killed Alisa, I ruined you all…”
Rayan, with hot tears streaming down his face, looked despairingly at the incinerator. Despite his efforts to control himself, he still trembled uncontrollably.
He said, “Tell me, what exactly happened back then?”
Itold Rayan the secret of the marriage system.
Although he was shocked, he believed my words. He covered his face and cried in pain.

Tears streamed down my face, and besides saying “I’m sorry,” I didn’t know what else to say,
I know this was unfair to Rayan, being suddenly dumped back then, he almost lost half of his life.
After hearing the news of his car accident, Alisa could hardly stand up, almost in fear.
However, the woman who loved him so much, when he finally regained consciousness, gritted her teeth and heartlessly said, “Isn’t this not dead? If you have the ability, just die cleanly, so that you
won’t bother me in the future.”
I saw Rayan shed tears of despair.
I wanted to explain to Alisa, but the angry Aguilar family did not give me the chance and dragged
both of us out of the ward.
After she went out, she couldn’t help but burst into tears.
I held her and said, “Alisa, I didn’t want you to hurt Rayan for me. Can you please stop listening to whatever the system says?”
“We went back and told Rayan that you loved him, and that you shouldn’t separate, okay?”
However, Alisa just gently patted my back and softly said, “Silly girl, he is going abroad, he has a better future, even if it’s without you, I still have to break up with him.”
“We should break up with both of them, and say it harshly to make him give up completely. It will
be good for both of us.”
But I knew that she was deceiving me.
I stood there, ashamed and at a loss, with my head hanging down.
Across from me, Rayan cried like a child. He told me that for so many years, he could never let go of Alisa and had silently kept tabs on her until he heard that she was doing well with Ethan, at which point he began blocking their updates.
He was in so much pain, both hoping that she could be happy and being jealous that she could be
happy.
And he
he, from beginning to end, was unwilling to accept the next person.
But he didn’t expect that the news he deliberately blocked out would cause him to miss the last
chance to save Alisa.
He squatted down and cried, holding his head. “If I constantly searched for news about her, I would know that Ethan bullied her, betrayed her, and I would come back and take her away regardless of everything.”
“But… but I, because of jealousy… I should die, I really should diel

I didn’t expect Rayan to blame himself.
He was the most innocent person throughout the whole thing.
Tears streamed down my face like a bursting dam, and it is only now that I realize how much wrongdoing I have done in my wretched life.
for me.
It actually felt that it was worth a pair of lovers sacrificing their lives and souls for
Does it match?
I asked the system in a dazed manner, “Can I give up my life in exchange for Alisa’s life?”
I thought it was just a ridiculous question, but I didn’t expect the system to respond to me.
In its cold and icy voice, mercy was revealed for the first time.
I heard it say, “Okay.”
When I was communicating with the system, Rayan had already come out of the funeral parlor, holding a neatly arranged urn in his hands. He saw my vacant gaze, even though he was clearly devastated, he still gently said, “Lara, I know you’re very sad, I am too.”
“But Alisa worked so hard to keep you alive, please… don’t disappoint her.”
I looked at him in confusion and asked, “Don’t you… hate me?”
Rayan shook his head and said, “If I were Alisa, I would also choose to save you.”
Because, in the orphanage, it was you who fought and got injured to protect the two of us, and at school, it was you who almost got expelled for protecting us.
After I was adopted, you were always by her side, comforting and taking care of her. You are her sister, and also my sister.
“Even if there was a glimmer of hope, even if it meant being separated from loved ones, as long as it could save you, we would be willing.”
When Rayan said these words, he tightly held the urn in his arms, pressing his face against it, tears: welling up in his eyes. “But darling, why didn’t you just tell me directly?”
“I would rather you had abandoned me for my sister than not loving me.”
I lowered my head, unable to bear watching him suffer anymore.
I didn’t tell him that soon he would be able to be with his beloved Elianna for over a decade.
Rayan, Alisa, you loved me more than anything, and so did I.
