Chapter 6
After Rayan and I left the funeral parlor, he asked me what my plans were.
I said I would clear Alisa’s name and make Ethan and that couple lose everything.
Rayan gritted his teeth, and the hatred in his eyes churned like ink in the raging waves, “Leave It to
me.”
I nodded slightly, I knew he needed to vent, even more than I did.
Moreover, the Aguilar family, as a well–known noble family of Pearldale, with several generations of scholarly heritage, although not as wealthy as the Delacruz Group, is in no way inferior to the
Delacruz Group in terms of influence.
Although Rayan was an adopted son, he was deeply loved and trusted by the Aguilar family. Now, he has become a key figure in the Aguilar family.
What I had to put so much effort into obtaining, he could easily get.
Besides, I didn’t have much time left.
After agreeing on the revenge plan with Rayan, I went to the hotel.
In the following days, Noel constantly contacted me using various numbers.
Every time, he would bring me a gift.
There was a video circulating online that showed him staying at my place for the whole night, just one stop away from where I live. The most envied woman in Pearldale, Megan, became me.
But I threw away all the gifts he gave me, and whenever I bumped into him downstairs, I pretended not to know him.
Later, I wanted to drag him to the courthouse, and he couldn’t help but run away.
It doesn’t matter, he would eventually initiate a divorce with me.
A week later, Noel arrived at my doorstep again with Odin.
I opened the door and saw the father and son with two faces full of grievances, feeling unhappy inside. “What do you want to do?”
Noel said, “Odin really misses you and keeps insisting on seeing you. He wants to apologize to
you…”
This time, Odin no longer had the arrogant and proud look he had before. He lowered his head and said, “Mom, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have disrespected you. Please forgive ine and give me a Chapter 6
chance.”
I looked at Noel, and there was some uneasiness on his face. “Come back… we all miss you.”
I said, “I heard that, in order to please Megan, you and Ethan splurged again at yesterday’s
auction.”
After Alisa’s death, Ethan was only briefly saddened for a few days before he happily accompanied Megan for prenatal check–ups, went on trips with her, and prepared things for their child together.
Alisa’s death was nothing more than a storm, big or small, to him.
Noel thought I was jealous and explained with a smile, “I gave it to her on your behalf. We are one family, and we have to get along well in the future. This can be considered as an apology to her.”
“However, there were no items in this auction that were particularly suitable for you. Next time, I will definitely personally select a set of good items for you.”
Upon hearing this, I sneered and said, “Do you think I was jealous?”
Noel frowned slightly, his face saying “What else?” I slammed the door shut.
Noel banged on the door outside, frustrated and embarrassed. “Lara, how long do you want to keep causing a scene? I have already humbled myself like this, what more do you want?”
I said, “I didn’t want anything, I just wanted you all to leave quickly.”
Noel eventually left with Odin reluctantly.
Before leaving, I heard the two of them arguing at the door.
He called Odin a “loser” and even I couldn’t console him. Odin, on the other hand, blamed him for always mentioning Megan.
The way they were biting each other, one big and one small, was really interesting.

Time flew by quickly, and soon my birthday arrived.
Rayan was afraid that I would get sick from being bored, so he insisted on taking me out for dinner.
I knew that he was actually more upset than me, so I didn’t want to disappoint his kindness and went to a restaurant with him.
But little did I know, just as I sat down, that party pooper Noel would come over.
Linstantly lost my appetite.
Noel said with a cold face, “Is this the reason you insisted on divorcing me? Because of your
mistress?”
