Chapter 2
I didn’t have the driver pick me up, and I walked alone on the chilly street, arriving at the “Silent”
building.
Leaning against the pillar at the entrance, I flipped through the photos Elliana had sent me on my
phone.
The last one was ten minutes ago.
The woman’s fair hands were bound by a sapphire blue tie, and the red marks scattered across her collarbone showcased the intensity of passion.
This tie was the birthday gift I gave to Axel six months ago.
Carefully selected and meticulously crafted, the lining of the tie featured embroidery of our initials.
I vividly remember the expression of overwhelming joy on Axel’s face when he received it.
Now this embroidery, torn and scratched by women, with loose threads mocking my miserable
heart.
And such photos, I have been receiving them intermittently since three months ago.
It started with jewelry that was the same as mine, then came the cufflinks that men are familiar
with, and the watch on the hand.
My indifference made her probes even bolder.
The photos became more and more seductive, and the videos became increasingly explicit.
Among them were several extremely insulting curses.
The mobile phone screen suddenly became blurry, and I wiped it hard, rubbing my fingertips until they turned red. Only then did I realize that it wasn’t the phone that was dirty, but my eyes were wet.
I crossed my arms and tears burst forth.
Four years of dating, three years of marriage, I can’t understand how he, who loved me so much, could betray me by saying he cheated.
I remembered at the wedding, he cried like a cl
holding me tightly and sobbing uncontrollably.
The vow was still fresh in my mind, “Meredith was my star, my ocean. I had to see the stars and
embrace the sea. In this lifetime, I loved only Meredith, she was my one and only.”
Originally, he only had seven years in his lifetime.

I sat quietly until nightfall, with dried tear marks on my face.
Chapter 2
There was not a single call or message from Axel on the phone.
My body was freezing and numb. I called a car and went back to the villa.
As the door opened, the sharp gasp of a woman escaped from the study.
My mind buzzed, and my blood instantly turned cold.
I thought Axel, no matter how absurd, would not bring Elllana to our carefully arranged home.
The phone slipped from the hand.
A loud bang.
The study suddenly fell silent.
A few minutes later, Axel opened the door and carefully closed it behind him.
Seeing me standing at the door with red eyes, he immediately became tense and quickly walked up to me, embracing me in his arms.
The phone quickly typed out the words, “Why did you only come back now? Your body must have
frozen.”
There was a cautious and somewhat guilty and probing expression in his demeanor.
I didn’t come back for a day, and he didn’t make a single call or message, busy fooling around with other women. Now he’s concerned if I’ve frozen my body or not?
I suddenly felt like laughing, I looked up at him, in his familiar peach blossom eyes, the worry was not fake, and the affection was not fake either.
At the buttoned neck, several bright strawberries were provocatively shining and clumsily challenging, as if needles were pricking into the eyes.
How could he pretend so naturally, as if he still loved me deeply, and never did anything to hurt me.

I lowered my gaze and forced a bitter smile, “Axel, we were…”
The phone suddenly rang.
Axel glanced down and quickly turned off the screen.
But I still saw it, it was an explicit photo deliberately sent by Elliana.
Sure enough, Axel’s Adam’s apple rolled, and desire surged in his eyes.
He touched my hair, smiled, and pointed to the study, making a gesture of a company to me.
Without waiting for my response, he strode towards the study,
Chapter 2
He was so impatient, even couldn’t wait for me to finish speaking.
The door closed, and Elliana’s pleading voice could be heard, “Axel, aren’t you afraid of being discovered when we speak so loudly?”
Axel sneered, “He was deaf, what could he hear…”
“You are so naughty. Luckily, she was deaf, otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to play so thrillingly.
“She loved me to death, even if she heard it, she wouldn’t be willing to leave me. You be honest,
don’t cause trouble in front of her, wherever you want to do it, I’ll listen to you.”
The sound of delicate laughter overflowed with movement, sharp as a knife.
I stood in place like a masochist, being stripped and torn apart by the overwhelming coldness that
surrounded me.
Axel forgot that my deafness was caused by saving him from being injured in a car accident.
Back then, he, consumed by self–blame, broke his hand bones by pounding them, trembling all over as he held me in his arms, swearing that he would never forgive himself in this lifetime, and wishing for his own demise.
Now, his constant wish for death has become his pleasure of flirting with the mistress.
I stretched the corners of my mouth and laughed until tears came out.
