Chapter 8 

Axel vomited blood, but he still charged forward like a mad dog, relentlessly. 

I couldn’t bear it anymore, so I raised my hand and slapped him, saying, “Have you had enough of 

your nonsense?” 

He stopped his hands and looked at me in a daze, with disbelief. 

I ignored the pain on his face and spoke in a cold tone, “I gave you the divorce agreement five years ago. Our marriage has long been terminated. Please do not disturb me anymore.” 

His face was pale, and his body swayed like a withered leaf in the wind and snow, but he stubbornly refused to admit, “I didn’t sign, it doesn’t count as a divorce, you are still my wife, Meredith. I know I was wrong, unforgivable. Look at me now, I have nothing left, I have already suffered retribution. Will you come back? I love you; I can’t be without you.” 

“Do you love me? Then what about Elliana?” I sneered, “We’ve been married for three years, and 

you slept with her for two years. Have you 

ever thought about how heartbroken and painful it would 

be for me when I found out?” 

Axel trembled his lips, despairingly clutching his head. 

But I had no intention of letting him go. “You know, yet you still did it, because you were convinced that you could control me, that I couldn’t live without you. You wanted my love, but also enjoyed the thrill of a young body. You even went so far as to kill our child, to remove my womb, just to make way for your child with Elliana. Do you dare to say that you love me?” 

Axel waved his hands frantically, explaining incoherently, “It’s not like that, the doctor said you had uterine cancer, only six months to live. The child would only burden you, so I had the doctor abort your baby, remove your uterus. Even Elliana’s child, I just wanted to use her womb to give you 

a child.” 

I was speechless and burst into laughter, “This doctor was introduced by Elliana, right?” 

If my hearing had not recovered, at this moment, I would have not only lost my child but also lost the qualification to be a mother for a lifetime. 

In the latter half of my life, I would be trapped in an endless abyss of regrets and remorse, unable to 

see the light. 

Axel became mute, and his head hung down, no longer daring to meet my gaze. 

He realized clearly that the woman who loved him deeply could no longer be the stars he could look up to or the ocean he could touch with an embrace. 

He lost his honey, and from the moment he chose to betray, there was no turning back. 

After a long silence, he trembled and said, “I’m sorry.”

I said lightly, “I don’t need your apology because I won’t forgive you.” 

“From now on, I only hope that you will no longer appear before my eyes. Take care.” 

Every word and sentence felt like being tortured to the bone. 

Axel was in excruciating pain, kneeling on the ground, unable to utter a word through his tears. 

I did not look at him, turned around and held Samuel’s arm, tightly interlocking our fingers, and never looked back. 

A year later, our daughter with Samuel was born. 

We happened to have the same birthday. 

I named her Stella. 

Three days later, a breaking news was reported on the news. 

We salvaged a bloated corpse from the sea. 

According to forensic examination, the deceased was male and died three days ago. 

I glanced indifferently at the familiar wedding ring that the police put into the evidence bag and changed the channel. 

Samuel heard a surprised voice behind him, “Honey, Stella called me daddy.” 

I couldn’t help but laugh, “She’s only three days old.”
