“Want proof?” Caitlin’s gaze sharpened as she turned to Carmen, cold and cutting. “I can give you proof.”
The crowd’s attention shifted fully to Caitlin as she sized up the Fragrance Garments on stage. She took a deep breath, analyzing the scent. “The fragrance on this garment doesn’t come from natural fabric dye–it’s perfume. I’m aware that you collaborated with a famous perfumer, Odessa, to create a new scent that has been used as the base for your Fragrance Garments.”
“That’s impossible! Stop making baseless accusations!” Carmen’s face grew darker, and she immediately snapped at her brother, “Douglas, get someone to throw this woman out! She’s here to cause trouble!”
But Douglas, while aware of his sister’s frustration, didn’t follow her orders. He understood that if someone was raising doubts about the Fragrance Garments, it was best to address the issue here and now, rather than just throw her out. He wanted to see what this woman was up

“I could remain silent, but do you really think everyone here can’t smell the difference?” Caitlin continued, holding up a small perfume bottle for everyone to see. “I happen to have a bottle of Odessa’s new fragrance here. I’d like to invite some guests with good noses to come up and compare the scents.”

“Great, let’s welcome this gentleman to the stage!” Caitlin said, as one of the guests from the fashion industry came forward. He carefully sniffed both the Fragrance Garments and the perfume Caitlin had, then declared, “I can’t detect any difference.”
The crowd murmured in surprise. If the two scents were the same, it meant that the fragrance on the Fragrance Garments was indeed the
same as Odessa’s perfume.
A few other guests, both men and women, came forward to test as well, and all agreed–the scent on the Fragrance Garments was identical to
the perfume.
The audience waited for an explanation from The Yuncey Family. Carmen’s face turned even darker as she coldly responded, “Even if the scent is similar, what does that prove? It could just mean we used the same materials that Odessa used in her perfume, This doesn’t mean our Fragrance Garments aren’t the real deal.”
Caitlin continued to analyze, her voice steady and confident. “Alright, if the scents are the same, then let’s discuss the Fragrance Garments themselves. As everyone knows, Fragrance Garments from The Yuncey Family are incredibly valuable–each piece is worth its weight in gold. But why is it so valuable? Because it’s handmade with carefully selected materials.”
“The natural scent that Fragrance Garments should have is supposed to attract butterflies, a sign of its authenticity. But let’s put that to the test right here.”
Caitlin motioned to the audience, and James quickly retrieved a large glass jar filled with live butterflies.

When burned, natural fabrics emit white smoke and leave behind black spots. The ashes crumble easily. But when synthetic materials burn, they emit black smoke, and nylon blends release a similar white smoke but with a foul odor.”
By this time, Caitlin had taken out a lighter. “Watch closely,” she said, lighting it. “Let’s test it.”
Carmen panicked, “Wait! What are you doing? This is our precious Fragrance Garments!”
Douglas realized the situation was spiraling out of control. He shouted, “Security! Get her out of here!”
Several bodyguards rushed in, but were immediately blocked by Sebastian and James.
Carmen and Douglas tried to snatch the lighter from Caitlin’s hand, but they were too slow. Caitlin had already lit the Fragrance Garments.
The garment quickly caught fire, emitting black smoke, and the smell became unbearable for those seated in the front rows.
Caitlin swiftly ripped the burning garment off the model, tossing it to the floor with a mocking laugh. “So, this is what you call Fragrance Garments? You think you can pass off synthetic fiber soaked in perfume as the real deal? Has The Yuncey Family really fallen this far?”
