My expression turned cold as I simultaneously activated the recording and screen recording functions on my phone.
When I walked into Jacob’s office, he didn’t mince words and got right to the point about what he wanted from me, something that I had already predicted, after being in the same scenario for five years.
“Aurelia, I heard you drafted a brand–new design that is even better than the one you gave Bella yesterday!”
I nodded. “Yes. I thought of another great design, so I sketched it down casually.” I said nonchalantly.
“Then give this new design to Bella. You don’t need this one anyway!” Jacob didn’t even bother to hide his vile intentions and spoke to me in a commanding manner.
I suppressed my anger and discomfort inside me. How come I never realized that Jacob was such a despicable person right from the start?
Instead of agreeing to his wishes as usual, I flatly refused. “I won’t. This design is for me! Besides, I already gave her a design yesterday, haven’t I?”
“That one wasn’t as good as this one today. Do you think I don’t know? Besides, what do you need it for? Is this design as important to you as it is to Bella? If she impresses the judges at the Century Jewelry Competition tomorrow, she might have a chance to participate in the World Jewelry Competition. As for you, have you produced any work in the past two years? Who even knows who you are in this industry?” Jacob’s face darkened as he continues to speak.
My face also turned unpleasant. “I haven’t produced any work because all my design drafts from the past two years were taken by you for Bella! Jacob, how can you say such things? Anyway, I had already set my foot down. I won’t give her this design!”
Jacob immediately figured that maybe going for a hard approach won’t do any good; so, he tried again, but he softened his tone this time. “Aurelia, I know you’ve always been the most softhearted. Bella is the gold signboard of our Trifleming Jewelry now. Even if you don’t consider her, you should consider me. We’re getting married in the future, and Trifleming Jewelry will belong to both of us!”
He added with a softer tone, “Besides, you’ve given all your design drafts to her in the past two years. It’s useless to say these things now. Bella will participate in the Century Jewelry Competition hosted by Strakovski Jewelry tomorrow, and it’s really important to her. We’ve reached this point; it’s better to give her a push. If she steps onto the world stage and benefits from it, it will still be good for our Trifleming Jewelry!”
But I was unusually stubborn this time. “I still haven’t changed my mind. I won’t give her this design! I want to keep this for myself!” I declared.
Jacob’s face grew more and more unpleasant, and in the end, he surrendered. “Fine, fine, fine! If you don’t want to give it, then forget it!” He waved impatiently.
With an unsightly expression, I huffed as I turned around to leave the office.

As I left the office, I saved the recording and screen recording, sneering slightly.
Before leaving work, I put today’s original design draft in my bag and stored a backup in a place where the design
drafts are usually kept.
Then, I took out a miniature pinhole camera from my pocket and discreetly placed it on the flower vase on the table.
Not long after I finished all this, Bella came over and approached me.
‘Sofia, did you and Jacob have a fight?‘ She whispered, ‘When you came back this time, I thought you were willing to believe that Mr Sterling and I really had nothing going on.’
My eyes flickered. “Why do you ask?”
Bella looked helpless. “I knew it! You had an argument with him! He said that he wants to take you out for a meal, but he asked me to act as the messenger for the both of you!” She said.
Of course, he would approach you! I sarcastically thought. “Is that so?” I replied calmly.
Bella nodded. “Yes! He also said that the three of us should have a meal together. I could really tell from his tone that you have really quarreled!”
After being repeatedly bombarded by Bella, I feigned defeat and satisfied the desires of these two despicable people to have a meal with me. And with that, we went to a well–known Western restaurant in Mediopolis with them.
They sat by the window, with Bella and Jacob sitting opposite each other, while I sat next to Jacob.
After ordering their food, Jacob and Bella chatted as usual, and I sat quietly and listened, as usual.
Not far away from the scene, Lukas entered the restaurant with his assistant.
At a glance, the assistant saw the people sitting by the window, but he wasn’t sure what he saw. He did a double take, and his expression suddenly became a bit awkward. “Mr. Strakovski, isn’t that Miss Aurelia?” He asked, leading his hand towards his eye view.
Lukas glanced over where his assistant is pointing and focused his gaze under the table, where Jacob and Bella’s legs were entangled.
A mocking smile crept up Lukas’s lips as he took big, confident strides toward their table.
