Chapter 39
I immediately put on an act, wearing a distressed expression. “Jacob, how come that after all these revelations, you’re still blaming me? It seems that I can’t rely on you to help me seek justice anymore. After all, you and me are already married, so why would you even help me?”
As I said this, Jacob is fuming mad that he was ready to attack me at any moment.
A reporter immediately asked, “Miss Aurelia, how did you come up with the idea of keeping your original design drafts? After all, Bella has already submitted them for the competition, and keeping them doesn’t seem to serve any purpose. If you really wanted to sue her, you probably would have done it many times over the court for the past two years, right?”
I rubbed my eyes with my sleeve as if I could shed tears at any moment. “Actually, I kept the original design drafts as a memento. They were my own designs after all, and I just wanted to keep a portfolio. But I never thought that they would come in handy in a situation like this.”
With a more aggrieved tone, I continued, “I never thought about suing Bella before. I treated her like a true sister! I could draw a couple of design drafts, and if she really wanted some, I would give her a few. But I never imagined she would turn around and sue me. I’m really hurt!”
Another reporter asked, “Miss Aurelia, during the press conference two days ago, you said you believed Jacob, and that your relationship was strong. At that time, you didn’t know he was already married to Bella, right?”
With teary eyes, I nodded, “Yes, I did say that because I didn’t know the whole truth. I only found out after a friend sent me photos of them coming out of the Civil Affairs Bureau. That was when I realized I had been deceived!”
After I finished speaking, I looked at Jacob, his anger so palpable that I feared he might carry my back backstage forcefully.
Jacob was trembling with rage. Aurelia must have known all along that he was married; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been so well–prepared. This bitch!
Another reporter interjected, “By the way, Miss Aurelia, why do you have so many recordings and videos?”
I acted as if I am trying to maintain my composure despite feeling embarrassed. “Actually, I’ve always had the habit of recording. Sometimes, I just enjoy listening to Jacob’s voice when I’m feeling down.”
I felt disgusted with myself for the lies I just spat out, but I knew it was necessary for my revenge. “As for the videos, there has been a pinhole camera beside my seat. I had noticed some of my design drafts had gone missing, so I had to do something.” I continued to speak.
A sharp–witted reporter immediately guessed, “It must have been Jacob and Bella who took them. They have always stolen your designs and claimed them as their own!”
I sniffed, feigning sadness, and appearing as pitiful as a sapling swaying in the wind. “I don’t know. I always believed in Jacob, but I never imagined that he would marry Bella and deceive me all this time, just to steal my design drafts…”

Chapter 39
As I finished my statement, I wiped my tears with my sleeve, making it seem as though I was genuinely crying.
Nearly everyone in the room believed my act, empathizing with my apparent heartbreak.
Then I looked at Jacob, who was almost trembling with anger. “Jacob, I always believed in you. I even told everyone during the press conference that we were going to get married. Why did you lie to me?” I cried.
Jacob was so angry that he lost control. He jumped up in fury, disregarding the setting, and shouted, “Aurelia, you bitch! You obviously knew early on, I’m going to kill you!”
I helplessly backed away, and some righteous individuals among the reporters pulled Jacob back.
The reporters watched as the situation unravel before their eyes, taking photos and gossiping along the process.
“How could there be such a shameless man?”
“He has disgraced us men. We must never say that such a scumbag is a man. He’s just not worthy!”
“At this point, he still wants to attack Aurelia. Poor Aurelia, she was blind to be attracted to this beast in the first place!”
Hearing these comments, I couldn’t help but curl my lips.
I covered my face as I hurried back to backstage. Everyone sympathized with me, thinking that I was in extreme pain and didn’t want them to see my devastated appearance.
Jacob was going crazy, not caring about the occasion. He broke free from the people holding him back and chased
after me.
The backstage was relatively empty, so Jacob quickly caught up with me. “Don’t you think you just won’t yet, Aurelia! This is not over! After all that has happened, you’re still a designer for Trifleming Jewelry, and as the CEO, I will sue you for bankruptcy!” He angrily spat. He did not hesitate to not mince his words, which dripped with malice as he tried to intimidate me.
Hearing this, I couldn’t help but turn around and sneer at Jacob. “Oh, really? Oh, I’m trembling! I’m so scared!” I mockingly said to him.
As I am saying that I accidentally bumped into someone’s arms.
Then, I heard a deep, hoarse voice saying, “Is that so? Then I want to see how you’re going to sue a Strakovski Jewelry designer to bankruptcy!”
