Chapter 41
1 froze for a moment, subconsciously turning my head to look at Lukas’s indifferent figure.
A black line appeared on my forehead, and I glared at Jacob with disdain. “Who said we’re a family? Don’t flatter yourself!”
Jacob gritted his teeth, trying to salvage the situation. “Aurelia, don’t say that. I know you’re angry, and you can take it out on me however you want. But as long as you come back, I will immediately divorce Bella. You’ll still be the boss lady of Trifleming Jewelry, and I promise to treat you well. Bella’s reputation is already ruined, and if you continue to stay at Trifleming, it will only harm the company!”
I couldn’t believe Jacob’s audacity to suggest such a thing. I sarcastically curled my lips, ready to speak my mind. However, before I could say anything, Bella unexpectedly walked in through another backstage door, glaring at Jacob with an enraged expression.
Jacob froze, trying to explain, “Al… Bella, why are you here? Didn’t I ask you to stay in the design department?”
Bella stared at Jacob with anger, hurt evident in her eyes. “If I stayed in the design department, I wouldn’t have heard
your wonderful speech! You’ve been playing with my feelings for two years, and now that you got your marriage certificate, you want to dump me? Jacob, have you lost your mind?”
Jacob appeared flustered, attempting to justify himself, “It’s not like that, Bella. Listen to me. Your reputation is already tarnished. If you continue to stay at Trifleming Jewelry, it will only harm the company!”
“Rest assured, as long as you divorce me, admit that you copied Aurelia’s work as your personal act, and have nothing to do with Trifleming Jewelry, I will compensate you enough. Trifleming Jewelry is our hard work, and you wouldn’t want to see it fall apart, right?” Jacob tried to reason, hoping to find a way out of the mess he created.
Bella’s fury escalated, and she slapped him hard across the face, unable to believe what she was hearing. “Jacob, you bastard! How can you say such shameless words? Until now, you still want someone else to take the blame for you! Do you think that leaving will save Trifleming Jewelry? Aurelia put so much effort into this plan; do you really think she’ll let you off easily?”
After Bella finished speaking, she glared at me with resentment, laying blame on me for the situation they were in.
Jacob covered his slapped face, turned around, and looked at me, anxiously waiting for my response. “It won’t happen. Aurelia has always been soft–hearted. She won’t be as heartless as you are. Isn’t that right, Bella? Say
something!”
Bella was so furious that she pounced on Jacob, grabbing his hair, and nearly tearing him apart in anger.
Jacob was shocked by her violent behavior and pushed her away, looking at me anxiously, as if seeking my
response.
I looked coldly at the two people fighting like wild animals, my expression heavy with disappointment and disbelief.
I didn’t know if this display was genuine or just another act orchestrated by Jacob and Bella to manipulate my

emotions.
However, it didn’t matter anymore. I would never believe either of them again. Their deceit and betrayal had left me heartbroken, and I was done with their lies.
I looked calmly at Jacob, “Jacob, even the most shameless person has a bottom line, but clearly, you don’t. You’re not worthy to be called a human being. It was only because I was blind and foolish that I fell for someone like you. You’ll reap what you sow!”
After I finished speaking, I turned around to Lukas. “Mr. Strakovski, let’s go!”
Lukas seemed to be in a good mood and gave a light snort before walking toward the exit.
Jacob stomped his feet in anger, “Aurelia, you fence–sitting bitch! You’re trying to butter up Mr. Strakovski, and for what? You won’t get anything from him in the end!”
I treated his words as rubbish and didn’t say anything, following Lukas downstairs without a word.
Once we were in the car, Lukas didn’t start the engine right away. Instead, he turned around and looked at me with
a smile. “Quite a show you have put out there. I thought you might have softened.” He said.
I was stunned for a moment, then self–deprecatingly smiled, “Then wouldn’t I be a fool without friends?”
Lukas raised an eyebrow playfully, “Don’t you think you’re foolish?”
My delicate face turned dark in an instant. Was this guy even speaking like a human?
Lukas ignored my reaction and continued, his expression unchanged, “What if Jacob recorded everything? The moment you admitted to setting him up, all your efforts would have been in vain!”
I froze, my face suddenly becoming extremely unsightly, “What do you mean he recorded it?”
