Chapter 11
Yvonne, grab some lavender latte, fruits, and snacks. Dig in and enjoy yourself. Yosef offered with a warm tone.
Yvonne raised the cup to her lips, taking a sip. The Blue Mountain Coffee carried an exceptional flavor and aroma, akin to the rare blend grown for over three centuries in the mountains. Back in the day, coffee this exquisite was only reserved for royalty. At a recent auction, this specific coffee cost a whopping three grand per gram. She savored another sip, the rich coffee flavor enveloping her senses, leaving a delightful aftertaste–it was indeed a top–notch brew.
“Yvonne, help yourself to some snacks Cherry nudged the treats Yvonne’s way, a mix of emotions playing on her face. “1 didn’t mean to lose you back then.
“I understand. So, how did you find me?” Yvonne’s heart softened. No one would deliberately misplace their kid.
“A while back, the White family posted a missing persons notice, spilling about the past. After seeing it by chance, I felt off for days, even had nightmares, so I asked your dad to do some digging, Cherry spilled.
“Then we found out you’re our kin, while the daughter we’ve raised for eighteen years ain’t our flesh and blood. Tears welled in Cherry’s eyes. “It’s our bad, letting you end up in another’s care,
Yosef was equally remorseful. “I was a dope back then, not double–checking before bringing Samantha home. Now, we’ve looked into her lineage. Her birth mom passed in that fire, and her dad’s whereabouts are a mystery. Raising her for eighteen years, we can’t just kick her out. So, we wanna her to stay here. You’d be the big sis from now on, and she’s the younger one. Are you cool with that?”
Raising a pet for eighteen years could brew a bond, let alone Samantha, who was top–notch in every way. Understanding their stance, Yvonne replied calmly, “You decide, I’m good with whatever.”
“How about I show you around upstairs?” Cherry breathed a sigh of relief–her daughter was just too kind.
Passing by the music room on the second floor, Cherry inquired casually, “Sweetie, do you have any hobbies?”
“Yep, making money. Yvonne replied simply.
Yosef couldn’t help but crack a smile. Like father, like daughter. I used to hustle for cash when I was younger. Turns out we
share the same interests!”
“Nah!” Cherry dismissed bluntly. “In your younger days, you were all about chasing after girls!”
Yosef’s expression froze. “Back then, you were the only one I had eyes for. Pursuing you was more important than making money”
Yvonne glanced out the window unintentionally and spotted a landing strip on the property–not too big, with only three planes parked. One of them was a Boeing 747 SP, a rare limited edition worldwide, priced at 200 million dollars and just like the private jet owned by Karect’s Chairman.
“Yvonne, this is your room. What do you think?” Cherry opened the door, eager for her daughter’s approval.
Yvonne’s eyes widened at the sea of pink surrounding her–curtains, bed, wardrobe, and desk, everything bathed in pink, leaving her speechless.
“Your mom thought all girls love pink, so she decked this room out like a princess’s chamber. Yosef took a deep inhale dramatically “Can you taste the sweetness in the air?*
Yvonne remained silent.
“If pink’s not your style, it’s cool. Your mom has prepared a few other rooms for you.” Yosef led her through the adjacent rooms, each with its own unique style–Mediterranean, Ancient aristocratic, modern minimalist… Unsure of Yvonne’s

preference, Cherry opted to decorate each room differently.
go with this one.” Yvonne picked the simplest room.

“Take a break for a bit. We’ve got more surprises lined up for you. Just wait for the servant to call you, then come down. alright?” Cherry held Yvonne’s hand, feeling a tad anxious about first gift for her daughter.
Yvonne understood her mother’s sentiment and nodded. After quickly arranging her belongings in the room, she pulled out her phone and messaged on WhatsApp. [Any more “Heartwell Grass‘ available?]
Marlene Langley wasted no time dialing, her voice soft and caring Yvonne, whipping up more of those Heartwell Pills?
Ride that wave of crazy black market prices, huh?”
Caught up in Charlene’s cheerful banter, Yvonne offered a slight smile. That’s one way to look at it.”
“The other reason’s Grandma Sienna, right?” Charlene, Yvonne’s close pal and partner in business, knew Yvonne very well.
She continued. “Selling one pill could pocket you 10 million dollars, while saving Sienna’s life with another. But I’ve got just one Heartwell Grass left.”
Heartwell Grass, a marvel for hearts but pricey as all get–out, was as scarce as hens‘ teeth. Few plants came up for grabs at auctions, and the one Charlene had left was bought at a high price from someone else.
Many folks might buy the grass to research its components, not truly grasping its value or how to turn it into a product for maximum efficacy. But Yvonne had the magic touch. With her alchemy of herbs, she could turn Heartwell Grass into beneficial pills. These tiny meds were the sole lifeline for heart patients sentenced to death by doctors. They flew off the shelves the moment they appeared.
In Charlene’s eyes, only in Yvonne’s hands could Heartwell Grass realize its utmost value. She asked, “Need it urgently? I can bring it over now.”
“Nah. I’ll pop over in a couple of days. I’m locked down at a place closer to yours now.” Yvonne briefly mentioned her newfound lineage.
“Wait, you’re not actually Zachary’s spawn? How’d all that drama drop on your doorstep?” Charlene was shocked by the turn. of events after days of no contact. “Now that the White family treated you like that, why would you still want to save Sienna?”
“She has taken care of me,” replied Yvonne simply. Zachary and Ada had always been busy with their careers, and it was Sienna raised Yvonne up. Now Sienna’s health was hanging by a thread. Yvonne couldn’t turn a blind eye.
“Sienna’s life depends on you now. Yet Zachary has convinced his cash keeps her ticking–VIP rooms, round–the–clock care. If not for you pulling her back from death time and again, how could he still have a mother now?” Charlene fumed.
Yvonne’s expression darkened, keeping mum.
