Chapter 33
In the hospital, Matthew eagerly awaited the appearance of Yvonne and Christopher, and at last, they arrived.
“Grandpa, Yvonne and I are here to see you.” Christopher’s voice was clear and bright.
However, Matthew’s gaze didn’t stay on his grandson for even a second. It was completely fixed on Yvonne. “You’re the girl who saved me twice?”
He was surprised at how pretty she looked. He hadn’t really takes a good look at her when he was in danger. Now he knew she was lovely and sending off a cold but attractive vibe. He thought, ‘Christopher sure is lucky!
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Matthew Sanchez, Yvonne greeted him politely as she walked in, looking graceful and charming Although she seemed less icy in front of Matthew, her unique elegance still stood out.
“Don’t call me that. We’re family, so no need to be so formal,” said Matthew.
Matthew was really satisfied with her. He chuckled and said. “You’re Christopher’s fiancée, so you can call me Grandpa just like him”
Yvonne thought to herself, “Christopher and I had only met recently. We aren’t even engaged.
Theard from Marty that you’re a long–lost part of the Lynch family. When you were heading home, you saved my life. Yesterday, I drank that soup and ended up in the operating room, and once again it was you who pulled me back from the brink of death. You saved me twice,” said Matthew.
He thought, “What a strange coincidence it was. If it weren’t for her, I’d be six feet under, and there would be no way I could meet my granddaughter–in–law now!
“It’s just that you were away from home for eighteen years, and you must have suffered a lot,” he added.
Just as Yvonne was about to say she was fine and hadn’t suffered, she heard him say, “In the future, both the Lynch family and the Sanchez family will treat you well.”
Yvonne thought, “I can understand the Lynch family, but why would the Sanchez family take care of me too?”
“Your name is Yvonne, right? Not only do you have a nice name, but you’re also good–looking” Matthew seemed to be commenting to William.
William nodded with a smile, agreeing. Yvonne indeed looks much better than Samantha, without any hint of awkwardness. She is quite a special girl.
Tve been so engrossed in talking that I forgot to ask you to sit. Come here, Yvonne.” Matthew reached out and patted the sofa by the bed.
Christopher noticed something and thought. “Is this sofa newly bought? He’s going to such lengths just to get me and Yvonne to sit together.
William smiled and suggested, “Why don’t you sit as well, Mr. Sanchez?”
Christopher didn’t show any displeasure and naturally sat down next to Yvonne. Matthew was surprised. It seemed like Christopher treated her differently.
“Yvonne, Marty told me that you recently graduated from high school. Have you thought about which university you want to attend? I can introduce you to certain individuals, Matthew inquired.
Yvonne answered, “Not at the moment.”

“In that case, how about Betrico University? I know its head
Matthew said.
Noticing Yvonne’s lack of interest in academic matters, Christopher interjected, “Have you taken your medicine today?”
At the mention of medicine, Matthew frowned. The medicine is painfully bitter. I wonder who prescribes it. Whoever drinks it might just keel over.”
Everyone fell silent, looking at Yvonne..
Yvonne calmly said, “I prescribed it.”
Matthew looked surprised, He never expected Yvonne to not only know how to perform surgeries but also prescribe
medicines.
“Well, even though the medicine was a tad bitter, good medicine always has a bitter taste. I’ll just have a piece of candy afterward, and it’ll taste as sweet as Yvonne’s care for me,” said Matthew.
“Then take the medicine.” Christopher urged calmly.
Matthew, full of bravado, demanded, “William, bring me the medicine. I was going to take it anyway. It slipped my mind because I got caught up in Yvonne’s arrival.”
William knew it was a lie and commented inwardly, Just a moment ago, when Ms. Lynch hadn’t arrived, you were. complaining about the medicine, saying it was so foul. And you said you’d rather hang yourself than endure the smell. Why the sudden change? Are you brave enough to say that in front of Ms. Lynch again?”
I can drink three bowls of it,” Matthew claimed.
Yvonne thought, ‘No need to drink that much
William brought the medicine in the thermos to Matthew. Matthew lifted his head and drank it all in one gulp, looking
fearless.
“Actually, it tastes all right,” Matthew said.
But as Marty saw Matthew frown, he even started to feel pity for him.
William also knew that the taste of the medicine was awful, but there was no way around it. After all, the one who prescribed it was right there. Besides, the medicine was good for Matthew’s recovery.
“How are you feeling today?“
