Chapter 37
The manager glanced at Christopher, who was holding hands with a young girl beside him. He realized she was Mrs. Sanchez. Immediately, he respectfully bowed and said, “Mrs. Sanchez, this way.”
“I’m not Mrs. Sanchez, Yvonne replied.
The manager, noticing their intertwined hands, nodded quickly. “You will be soon. Mr. Sanchez has never brought a girl. here with him before. You’re the first one”
Yvonne was speechless.
“Do you have any dietary restrictions, Mrs. Sanchez?” the manager asked.
“No. Just change how you address me and call me Yvonne.”
“I wouldn’t dare call you by your name,” the manager said with a forced smile as he discreetly spoke into his earpiece, “Clear the restaurant. ASAP”
Yvonne glanced at Christopher as if she was asking, “Is all this exaggeration necessary for a simple dinner?
This is our first date. Christopher said as he held her hand firmly, and they walked into the restaurant together.
Meanwhile, Muriel hooked her arm through Yanis’s and said, “Yanis, this place is so posh, yet you brought me here…
just too sweet.”
Yanis, gazing at her fondly, replied, “You’re my fiancée. I must treat you right.”
As they strolled towards the restaurant’s entrance, the greeter bowed apologetically. “Sorry, but the restaurant has been booked for a private event today”
Vanis’s face scrunched up. “What? I didn’t receive any notification on my phone.”
The greeter explained, “It was a last–minute decision. We’re really sorry about that. You can reschedule a new date on our app, and next time you dine, we’ll offer you a 50% discount
Muriel was amazed to hear this, thinking, 50% off) Such a big discount? The food here is ridiculously expensive. Even a simple cup of coffee costs over 600. Even wealthy people might not get a seat, while Yanis had to book his spot half a month in advance, and that was just for the main dining area. Those exclusive private rooms! Forget about it. Who’s the VIP here today to have the whole place to themselves? It’s so extravagant!
“Fine.” Yanis was about to leave when Muriel spotted a familiar figure heading towards the VIP elevator that led to the top- tier private boxes. She knew it was Yvonne. That silhouette was unmistakable to her.
Pointing inside, Muriel asked urgently, “How come she’s allowed in there?”
“Who are you referring to?” The greeter turned around, not seeing anyone, and kindly explained. “Only the special guests for tonight and the restaurant staff are permitted.”
“Muriel, did you see someone?” Yanis asked as he looked around, spotting no one familiar.
Muriel whispered, “I think I saw Yvonne.”
“Are you sure you’re not mistaken?” asked Yanis
He thought, ‘Only the rich and famous can get in, and with Yvonne’s income level, she clearly doesn’t belong here. Plus, the place has been booked–for a private event tonight. How did she even manage to get inside?

“Maybe Yvonne is working here to stay in Betrico. Muriel pretended to sigh “Yanis, can you use your connections to help Yvonne find a job? I’m afraid wealthy people here might harass her. Yvonne used to be a proud person. If she compromises just to stay in Betrico-”
“Whether she lives or dies, it has nothing to do with us.” Yanis held Muriel’s hand, eat at the restaurant across the
street.”
“Okay.” To witness Yvonne’s embarrassment more clearly, Muriel intentionally sat by a window. This way, when Yvonne came out after work, she could see everything clearly
“Mr. Sanchez, Mrs. Sanchez, please have a seat, the manager said.
Inside the spacious and luxurious private room, one could see the outside view. This was a high–end restaurant located on the mountaintop, with the ceiling open to reveal the true starry sky
Christopher sat next to Yvonne, holding her hand without letting go. He slid the menu in front of her and asked, “What would you like to eat?”
Glancing at the menu, Yvonne randomly picked a few dishes, and Christopher added a few more. When the manager left the room, Yvonne raised her eyebrows and asked, “Can you let go now?”
Christopher, restrained yet earnest, inquired, “Just a little longer?
Yvonne stayed quiet.
“Just for a while,” he insisted.
Yvonne remained silent.
The daytime view here is nice too. Should I bring you here next time to take a look?”
Yvonne didn’t respond, and just a short while later, the manager arrived with a few chefs delivering the dishes personally.
Having lunch at the Lynch residence earlier today, Christopher knew which dishes Yvonne didn’t like and which ones she enjoyed more. He roughly understood her taste, so he ordered dishes that she liked,
“Are we going to finish all of this?” Yvonne looked at the table filled with over twenty dishes.
“Take your time,” Christopher said, holding her hand with one hand and using the other to pick up food for her.
“Can you let go now? I can’t eat with you holding my hand like this.”
Christopher let go of her right hand and then smoothly took her left hand.
Yvonne was speechless.
“Are you sure you want to eat like this?” Yvonne was not used to this kind of arrangement.
“Yeah.”
“Christopher, I think we need to talk.”
“After we finish eating: Christopher picked up a peeled shrimp and offered it to her. “Wanna try?”
“Put it in the bowl. I’ll eat it myself.”
Ignoring her request, Christopher directly fed her the shrimp.
Yvonne gave him a warning glance. Christopher remained unfazed and gently asked, “How is it?”

“Not good.”
The foreign chef next to him was terrified, asking in broken Clusian, “Mrs. Sanchez, what’s wrong with the dish? I’ll fix it right away.”
I’m talking about someone here, not the dish
The foreign chef was puzzled, not understanding her words.
“You may leave now,” Christopher said.
The chefs and the manager hurriedly leli, letting out a sigh of relief.
“Are you angry?” Christopher gently looked at Yvonne. “Sorry, I was too hasty”
“Can you move to the opposite side? In simple terms, can you just stay away from me?” Yvonne asked.
“But I want to sit with you!”
Looking at Christopher’s serious expression, Yvonne was speechless.
After finally finishing their meal, the restaurant’s lights dimmed, the ceiling opened up, and the beautiful starry sky appeared before them. Yvonne lifted her head and suddenly recalled her childhood days in the countryside.
Back then, Zachary and Ada’s careers hadn’t taken off yet. They rarely came home, busy with work outside, while Sienna spent night after night with Yvonne. The countryside at that time was just as starry–filled as it is now. However, people had changed.

A violinist stood in a corner of the room, playing romantic music.
As the music concluded, the night sky suddenly burst into large, dazzling fireworks. Yvonne looked–up at the fireworks while Christopher gazed down at her.
