Yvonne checked the map inside the elevator and ally pressed the button for the second floor, where the design department was located. “No need. I’ll just walk around on my own.
It was early in the morning so not many people had arrived at the office of the design department. Some were focused on their phones; some were catching up on sleep. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing and everyone looked lazy.
When the receptionist led Yvonne in, she deliberately knocked on the door.
But the people inside saw Yvonne looked like a high school student so they thought she was the receptionist’s relative. They didn’t take it seriously,
“Nana, do you come to work with your relative too?” A slightly chubby woman joked, “Come here. Join me in the game!”
The receptionist was Nana. She hurriedly winked at the woman to stop her from talking.
The chubby woman didn’t notice anything wrong. “What’s going on with your eyes?” Yvonne walked over to her and found that she was playing cards on the computer. Yvonne lazily warned her, “You’re going to lose.”
The chubby woman was stunned for a moment. She thought, “This little girl knows how to play this game?”
Yvonne said. “Play the nine of spades.”
Hearing Yvonne’s words, the chubby woman instinctively clicked on the nine of spades with her mouse.
Then Yvonne said, “Six of hearts, three of diamonds, and then five of spades. Following her guidance, soon, the chubby woman fought back and won.
“Wow, you’re incredible! How old are you?” The chubby woman patted Yvonne’s shoulder. “How about you help me win two/ more games? I will give you ten bucks to buy some snacks for yourself!”
“Everyone, this is Ms. Lynch, the company’s leader appointed by the headquarters!” The receptionist cleared her throat, “It’s time to go back to work. No more slacking off.”
The chubby woman stared at the girl in front of her, who she thought was a high school student in surprise. Her mouth was wide enough for two eggs! She thought, “This girl is sent here to take over the company by the headquarters? Has she graduated high school? Is she some senior executive’s mistress who pulled some connections? Will she be a torment to us?”
Others were also puzzled about Yvonne’s age and doubted if she could manage a company.
“With your current approach, it’s impossible to win in three to five months.” Yvonne patted the chubby woman’s shoulder. “Go back to your work and make more money”
When Yvonne was about to leave the office, she noticed a girl sitting in the corner with headphones. She was drawing- something on a piece of paper with her back facing Yvonne.
Yvonne walked over to take a closer look. The girl was sketching a simple dress. The dress looked plain but the thick stack of drafts beside her was enough to prove how hard she worked.
Nana said while gently tapping the girl’s shoulder, “This is our most hardworking and ambitious designer, Bella Jackson”
Bella took off her headphones, looking at the two unexpected visitors in front of her. She asked politely, a bit confused, “How can I help you?”
The office was too noisy just now so she put on headphones. So she was unaware of what had happened.
“Ms. Lynch will be in charge of the company from now on Nana whispered to Bella, “Hurry up and say hello to her.”

Bella turned to Yvonne and immediately stood up. She said nervously and respectfully, “Good morning, Ms. Lynch
Yvonne looked at the stack of drafts. “Did you design all of these?
Bella hurriedly handed them to Yvonne. “Yes”
Nana said. “Bella graduated from college at eighteen. She was a straight–A student! She’s passionate about fashion and design. She has already created several drafts for the company since she joined us last month”
“Looks good.” Yvonne returned the drafts to Bella. “Keep it up

Bella said. “Thank you, Ms. Lynch She watched Yvonne walk away, amazed that someone at her age was already running a company. She thought Yvonne must be very talented!
After walking around in the office, Yvonne found that most people were slacking off. She thought none of her company had such a severe problem.
She thought this place was downright lifeless and sterile.
Yvonne returned to her office. As soon as she sat down, her assistant Howard, who was late, barged in.
Howard said. “Sorry, I’m late. Wait. Where’s the boss? Isn’t she supposed to be here today? Hey, little girl, have you seen the boss of this company? Get up quickly! She will be here soon! You can’t sit in her seat!”
Howard suddenly noticed that the girl in front of him raised her eyebrow casually and proudly. He said nervously.”

Then he stammered something to Yvonne. Yvonne soon figured everything out.
A year ago, the Lynch family ventured into the fashion industry. They hired a lot of talented people: some were good at management; some were experts in fashion design.
The headquarters even sent a person named Adam Harris to oversee everything.
But the company didn’t make much improvement.
Maybe disappointed with the company, many of the talented people left the company.
The headquarters was hopeful at first but then they stopped caring about it so everyone started to slack off.
Howard had been working here for a year. Even though he was anxious about the situation, he couldn’t change anything.
Yvonne said, “Tell everyone we will have a meeting. I want the heads of all departments and all the senior managers to be in the conference room in half an hour.”
Howard hurried out to write the notification. “Got it.”
Half an hour later, only nine people were in the conference room. There should be thirty–eight people.
Someone said, “Ms. Lynch, the head of the finance department said her child was sick so she took leave to send her child to the hospital
Another one said. “The head of the procurement department is not feeling well so he is resting at home.”

Yvonne was puzzled.
Jason continued. “For example, last month, Bella. my team member, designed ten summer dresses. We had meetings to discuss them and everyone thought they were good and the final products look great but no one is buying them! I don’t think we are wrong about the dresses. If you don’t believe me, I can show you the dresses.”
