Chapter 7
Mark finally spoke up. Tll go check out how this girl works.”
As Mark made his way out, the other doctors swiftly trailed behind. Dr. Johnson, you can’t just watch. Please think of a plan. before Mr. Christopher Sanchez arrives!”
Sonia signaled a nurse close by. “Get all the monitors in the operating room on, document everything, and let’s keep a close eye on how she messes up!”
News of a teenager leading a particularly challenging surgery spread like wildfire within the hospital. Crowds of doctors hurried to witness the spectacle. Even a seasoned pro like Mark was stumped. How could a young girl manage it? Or was this some elaborate charade?
Just as Yvonne slipped into asepsis clothes, prepping to enter the OK, Sonia came over and said, “A heads up, Mr. Matthew
Sanchez’s pericardium took a hit during the last surgery. His heart’s now pushed right up against his sternum. If you’re careless during the chest incision, his heart could rupture, and he’d be gone in a flash. You’ll be done for then.”
“I’m not you.” Yvonne glanced at Sonia, her eyes sparkling. “I won’t make such a rookie mistake.
“You! Fine. I’ll be there for your opening slice!” Sonia seethed, storming off into the observation room.
The observation room teemed with doctors, who were visibly surprised when they saw that the lead surgeon was really a young girl.
Dr. Johnson, who is she? Are we really letting her loose in there
“She’s barely a teen, right? Looks like she hasn’t even graduated high school. Don’t you know the man on the table is Mr. Matthew Sanchez’s grandfather?”
“If things hit the fan, all of us will be tied to this.”
“She craves the spotlight, and Dr. Dawson is ready to face the music. What’s you guys worried about?” Sonia crossed her arms, standing against the large glass wall, shooting a sarcastic glare at Yvonne inside.
Yvonne donned a surgical mask, her eyes brimming with confidence, showcasing the poise of a lead surgeon.
“Get him into position.”
“Administer the anesthesia.”
“Disinfect the skin.”
“Scalpel”
Yvonne ordered Yaron in an organized manner. The doctors in the observation
“Does she really know medicine?”
This procedure seems correct…”
“Can she actually save Mr. Matthew Sanchez?”
room were taken aback.
“Hah, she probably picked this up from binge–watching medical shows. Don’t get your hopes up too high.” Sonia smirked dismissively. If this youngster could save lives, I might as well swallow scalpel live on air
Initially, some held a glimmer of hope for Yvonne’s medical skills, but when they saw the hand she was using to hold the scalpel, they became unsettled.

Chapter 7
“What’s with this kid? In such a crucial surgery, she’s using her left hand? Is she a lefty?”
“Left–handed people may not have the same precision as right–handed individuals.”
“If she’s a righty but deliberately using her left hand for surgery, he must be out of her mind!”
“She’s not taking this surgery seriously at all.
“It’s possible she knows nothing about surgery. Dr. Johnson, why trust a child’s word? This is a complete mess!”
No one dared to undertake such a critical surgery using their non–dominant hand.

Yaron was equally surprised. He recalled that she was right–handed. Has something happened to her right hand, compelling. her to use her left instead?
Matthew had a lengthy history of heart valve replacement surgeries, resulting in a rather distinctive structure. Yet, with a swift incision, Yvonne split open the sternum, leaving everyone in shock.
“Even seasoned docs wouldn’t try such a cut, and here’s this young girl doing it fearlessly. Is my eyesight playing tricks on
mel
“That first cut was so spot–on…
“She’s quick, precise, and gutsy, no question about it.”
“How is this possible?” Sonia muttered, dumbfounded. “How is she managing this so effortlessly? She doesn’t seem like a rookie at all.”
As Yvonne opened Matthew’s sternum, she found his heart marked with lesions, and the blood vessels were shifted from their original places, making them hard to distinguish from one another. The heart, without the protection of the pericardium, was nearly pressed against the sternum.
Yaron glanced over and grasped the severity of the situation. He had concerned about how Yvonne would manage it, but surprisingly, she handled every detail flawlessly.
“Zoom in on the details, Mark instructed. He was amazed, wanting to see how Yvonne would proceed next.
Yvonne meticulously separated the heart from the disrupted stemnum wall, the toughest part of the surgery. Even skilled surgeons would require hours to handle this in Matthew’s case. But for Yvonne, half an hour was more than sufficient. Head down, she concentrated on her movements, radiating confidence
All doctors held their breath, knowing that this process was no small feat. One wrong move that could injure the heart tissue or a blood vessel would spell disaster.
At that moment, a crowd appeared, Christopher at the forefront Despite being in his twenties, he exuded authority. His sharp brows, prominent nose, and composed yet sophisticated demeanor emitted an air of aloofness.
“Mr. Christopher Sanchez, you’re here,” greeted everyone, stepping aside in fear and awe.
Followed Christopher were several top–notch heart experts. Only Christopher had the clout to summon these industry bigwigs in such a short time,
Mark quickly backed to the side, speaking up humbly. “Mr. Matthew Sanchez’s condition took a nosedive once again. Just when we managed to have the pneumonia under control, signs of heart failure emerged. Today’s checkup revealed he’s fighting infective endocarditis of the prosthetic heart valve and valvular dehiscence…”
“Who is she?” Christopher’s cold gaze sculed on Yvonne. She sported a surgical mask, leaving only her clear eyes exposed. Yet, it was evident that she was barely in her teens.

of a doctor’s qualifications or experience, as long as they have the guts, they can perform the surgery, huh? Seems like you’ve all lost your minds!”
That’s not.
Mr. Strutt, Mark attempted to clarify, but fear gripped his throat, rendering him speechless.
The whole medical crew in the observation room were quaking in their boots.
