Chapter 10
In the empty room, four coffins were arranged neatly in a row.
A creepy feeling washed over me as 1 froze, listening to Mrs. Martha explain.
“Ma’am, Sir and the three young masters insisted on experiencing the pain you went through, hoping to earn your forgiveness.”
After she finished speaking, Mrs. Martha closed the door and left.
I stood there for a moment, thinking this was too ridiculous.
Without lingering, I headed for the door to leave.
Suddenly, one of the coffins called out urgently.
“Giselle, I know I was wrong.“.
“I finally understand the suffering you went through being locked in here, I…”
Lucas’s voice was choked with emotion.
But I cut him off without mercy.
“Lucas, nobody can truly feel what someone else has been through.”
Those days locked in that coffin were the darkest, most agonizing days of my life.
And now these four actually thought they could make me forgive them with this little stunt. If I could forgive them so easily, that would be betraying the me who suffered through all that pain!
And I won’t betray myself anymore.
I laughed coldly.
“Lucas, did you see the coffin you locked me in?”
“Did you look at the marks inside it?”
Those were the traces of my suffering.
I’ll never forget them again.
“Giselle, please, don’t abandon us…”
Ethan’s voice was thick with tears as he kicked frantically at his coffin lid.
“Giselle, we’ll be good from now on–I won’t call you names anymore. Please don’t leave, okay?”
Liam’s voice was hoarse as he screamed desperately.
“Waaah… Giselle… Mommy.”
Little Oliver’s voice was raw from crying, barely able to catch his breath.
He was crying and calling out “Mommy.”
The word I’d once desperately wanted to hear.
But it was too late now.
I opened the door and walked out.
Behind me, the three boys kept crying and calling “Mommy” over and over.

Chapter 10
didn’t look back.
This time, I was going to live for myself!
I had my belongings moved out of the mansion and left ten copies of the divorce papers in the living room.
Lucas tore up one.
Here were ten more—eventually he’d get tired of tearing them up.
The car started, and I left the most luxurious mansion in the city.
As we drove, I watched the scenery pass by–the same route I’d taken for two years.
But this was the first time I really paid attention to the views I’d always overlooked.
Life was still beautiful, and my future held so much more to see.
Life was never about being afraid of taking wrong turns.
As long as you cut your losses in time, everything becomes part of your journey and growth.
