Chapter 8
“Giselle, you’re not deade
Youre alive
Lucas froze at first, then his eyes lit up as he rushed over to me.
I looked at him coldly, not moving for a long moment.
His raised hand falling back down.
“Giselle, I’m so glad you’re alive–our family can be together again.”
“You have no idea how much the kids missed you, they…”
Before he could finish, I cut him off with a cold laugh.
“Missed me?”
“What exactly did they miss? Wishing I’d die sooner?”
My icy words jolted the three boys awake in their hospital beds.
They opened their eyes, and when they saw me, they jumped out of bed immediately.
“Giselle, you’re really not dead?”
“Waaah…”
As the three of them burst into tears, I remained completely unmoved.
Just let their cries echo through the hospital room.
After a few minutes, they stopped crying but stared at me with red, swollen eyes, as if I had somehow wronged them.
“Giselle, didn’t you see us crying?”
“Before, whenever we cried, you would always…”
“Would always what?”
I smiled and handed the divorce papers in my hand to Lucas.
“Let’s get
divorced.”
“From now on, I want nothing to do with you four.”
With that, I had the nurse start wheeling me toward the door.
But someone grabbed the handles of my wheelchair tightly.
“Giselle, cut it out. I know we were wrong this time, but I never thought things would go this far.”
As Lucas spoke, his eyes were bloodshot as he tore up the divorce papers.
“I will never divorce you. You’ll be my wife and be the mother of these three children forever.”
His words were like a dagger stabbing straight through my heart.
Two years with these four.
Lucas had never once treated me like his wife.

The tall, sturdy female ise got the hit and gave the wheelchair a firm push.
We left their hospital room.
“Giselle, don’t go…”
“Don’t leave us!”
Ethan led his two brothers chasing after my wheelchair.
But I never looked back.
Just as we reached the elevator, we ran straight into Sophia and my mother, both drenched in sweat.
“Giselle!”
“How are you still alive?!”
Sophia’s voice was shrill, her face twisted with fury.
“Mommy, look!”
“She faked her own death–she did this on purpose!”
“She’s trying to use this to make Lucas and the boys change their minds about her.”
Sophia gritted her teeth, grabbing my mother’s hand and stirring up trouble.
My mother snapped back to reality, her eyes blazing as she raised her hand to slap me, but the nurse blocked it firmly.
“You little brat, Giselle! You’ve gone too far!”
“How dare you defy your own mother!”
My mother’s face was contorted with rage.
She pushed Sophia behind her, then came at me wild and aggressive.
“How long has it been since I beat you? Getting too big for your britches, huh?”
“I’m gonna teach you a lesson today!”
Her wild, vicious expression used to be my nightmare
But now I just smiled indifferently.
The nurse pushed me behind her and quickly restrained my mother.
“Giselle, tell her to let me go!”
“I swear I’ll make Lucas divorce you!”
I watched coldly, then suddenly spoke up.
“I already gave him the divorce papers,”
My mother froze, her eyes darting around before she suddenly shouted.
