“Is there no limit to her shamelessness? How could she stoop so low?” Wesley fumed, his face a shade of livid green. He had always known Azalea had her flaws, but he never imagined she would degrade herself just to spite Sydney.
It was utterly shameful!
Wesley was dumbfounded, unable to believe that his biological daughter would behave in such a disgraceful manner. The thought of disciplining her with his own hands crossed his mind. How could my daughter become like this?
“It’s clear we were too lenient with her at home. How else could she go so far astray the moment she left?” Wesley raged, his face twisted with anger. It had only been a short while; left unchecked, what worse could she do?
Pacing the study with his hands clasped behind his back, Wesley declared, “I must bring that ungrateful girl back today, even if it means dragging her back myself.“.
“Sydney, call Cassius. Inform him of the situation and have him send me Azalea’s current address.” Wesley gritted his teeth with such force it seemed they might shatter.
Sydney, inwardly gleeful, saw her father’s fury as an opportunity. If Azalea were brought back now, she might never recover fully, allowing Sydney to eliminate her as a rival permanently.
She managed a facade of concern, “Dad, please calm down! I’ll call him right now. Maybe Azalea just lost her way for a moment. We should talk to her gently and let it go.”
Gently? Wesley scoffed at the notion. If he did not make an example out of Azalea this time, he would not be her father.
Despite the lack of any concrete evidence and merely on the words of others, Wesley, as a father, had already condemned Azalea.
If it had been Sydney accused, he would have likely had the accuser severely punished for daring to slander his beloved daughter.
He seethed at the thought of anyone daring to besmirch Sydney’s name.
Meanwhile, Cassius was in a meeting at his company when Sydney’s call came in. He excused himself to answer, already predicting the nature of her complaint.
Upon hearing her story, his reaction was muted, not with the typical anger but with skepticism, pondering whether Azalea could truly be capable of such actions.
Wesley could not restrain his anger and grabbed the phone. “Cassius, find out where Azalea is right now!”
Cassius, sensing the urgency in his father’s voice, responded immediately, “I’ll have my assistant check her location. Dad, just give me a moment to wrap things up here, and I’ll come with you to sort this out.”
“What’s there to sort out? What can’t someone like Azalea do?” Wesley was convinced of her guilt.
“You’ve even said she’s been doing fine since she left. Doesn’t that tell you everything?”

Chapter 25 Shameless
Cassius hesitated but affirmed, “I’ll meet you later, Dad.”
If Azalea had indeed crossed a line, she would need to face the consequences,
She must be brought back, and he would manage his father’s reactions in due course.
The call ended, and Cassius quickly directed his assistant to locate Azalea.
Sydney could not resist adding fuel to the fire. “Dad, if Azalea is now living with that man, wouldn’t it be somewhat awkward for her?”
This comment stoked Wesley’s fury further, “Awkward? When she threw herself at some old man, did she even think about that?
“I need to bring her back, not just to discipline her, but to ensure her lover faces consequences as well!”
His clenched fist cracked, a testament to his rage, and it was fortunate he was in good health, or his anger might have landed him in the hospital.
With her objective achieved, Sydney turned to William, “Dad, I need to head to Bastian’s soon, so I’ll take my friend with me. It’s fine if Azalea criticizes me when you speak to her.”
Her sweet demeanor masked her manipulations perfectly.
Witnessing this, Wesley’s heart softened even further. Adopting Sydney had been the right choice. This was exactly how a daughter of the Larks should behave.
When he thought of Azalea, resentment filled his gaze once more. He regretted not letting her fend for herself outside!
Outside the school, Wylie waited by his car as Azalea and Irene walked out.
His uniform, consisting of bespoke black pants, and a white shirt, suited him perfectly, enhancing his scholarly appearance.
With his esports headphones on during a competition, he transformed into a different kind of leading man. Azalea mused silently about his background: his father, a dignified politician, and his mother, a renowned painter.
It was like something out of a classic novel.
Back in junior high, Azalea had a soft spot for romantic tales, often finding herself swept away by the grand narratives. It seemed the grandeur of a big family really did touch every aspect of life, not just showing up by chance.
Wylie, unfamiliar with Irene, cast a curious look her way as she walked out with Azalea.
With a smile, Azalea introduced her, “This is a real gem, you’ll see soon enough.”
Irene, trailing a bit behind, felt her cheeks warm with a blush. It was the first time someone had referred to her as a gem, and her dark eyes sparkled with a mix of embarrassment and pride.
