Chapter 41 You Creep
Chapter 41 You Creep
Douglas rubbed his chin, the shock fading from his eyes as a sly grin crept across his face. “Haha. He chuckled.
When Hubert first started sponsoring people, their friend group thought he was crazy and teased him nonstop. But Hubert never said much–unless they pushed too hard, then he’d snap back. Eventually, they just stopped mentioning it.
Now, Douglas had finally caught him in the act.
Hubert furrowed his brow slightly and glanced over with a barely noticeable look. “You creep.
Douglas’s eyes went wide in disbelief. This old perv had no right to call me a creep!
Hubert added calmly, “She’s struggling.”
Joking aside, Douglas’s face turned serious. “That stuff she’s dealing with isn’t your problem. You already helped by sponsoring her for all those years. You’re not thinking of supporting her forever, right?”
“I’m just keeping an eye on her.” Hubert’s gaze shifted to the girl on stage adjusting her gear. She was stunning, with fierce, confident eyes full of hunger for a win–totally captivating.
Douglas crossed his arms, teasing, “Man, you’ve caught the dad bug, huh? What’s next? Walking her down the aisle?”
Hubert didn’t answer. “Nah, she’ll grow up soon enough.”
He believed the girl he was watching would grow up faster than anyone expected.
Wanting to change the subject, Hubert said, “I heard you got a nice green diamond in your latest shipment.”
“Yeah, planning to make it the centerpiece for the new season.” Douglas was in the jewelry business.
“Sell it to me. Name your price. I want it carved into a leaf.”
“Really?” Douglas spoke with exaggerated sarcasm.
Hubert ignored him and looked back at the stage.
GOD’s whole team was ready, but the surprise came from Anexis–instead of Petal, some girl no one knew was playing.
“Where the hell did this Lark come from? Not Petal? They’re letting her play?”
“This Autumn Finals just went off the rails.”
The crowd below cheered loudly.
On stage, Azalea was a little surprised to see Sydney across from her.
Not Petal?

Even in the last life. Sydney only joined esports after Azalea had already made a name for herself.
Sydney smiled softly. “Didn’t expect my sister to be my opponent today.”
The remark stunned everyone on both teams.
The Anexis team assumed from Petal that Azalea got in because of Wylie’s connections, but it seemed there was more to it.
Lark’s sister? That’s the Larks‘ heiress, right?
The looks the Anexis players gave Azalea changed. “So you’re Lark’s sister. We’ll go easier on you later.
That was a far cry from how they’d trash–talked her in practice.
GOD’s team didn’t know Sydney’s background but were surprised. Is everyone in Phoenix’s family prodigies?
Hearing Anexis’s comments, the GOD players quickly defended their own. “We don’t need your pity. You’d better bring your best game, or you’ll get wiped out again.”
Azalea shot back coldly, “Go easier on me? It should be the other way round.”
That instantly reminded Anexis of how Azalea had crushed them in practice, and their faces darkened.
The first game began.
GOD’s fans noticed not just the mid–laner change but also that the coach was a woman now. The crowd muttered the game was lost.
But when GOD locked in their last hero, the commentators couldn’t help but praise, “Looks like GOD’s new coach is serious. She’s set it up so well that Anexis is already on the defensive.”
mid–laner, Phoenix, is a total mystery to us. For this first round, Another commentator added, “GOD’s new she picked Glacia. Anexis’s rookie mid–laner, Lark, counters with Arcanite. Let’s see how these two newcomers do!
“Now, let’s start the match!”
The broadcast cut to the players on stage.

Azalea spoke into her mic, “Wylie, Lachlan, start mid–lane. Hide in the bushes.”
Besides Petal, Azalea had played countless matches with the other four Anexis members in their last life and knew their play styles inside out.
Anexis’s support player usually helped secure early advantages on both sides, but nothing was guaranteed.
Azalea controlled her hero carefully, but with Sydney in mid–lane, everything changed. With jung support backing her, she timed her moves perfectly, sending a freezing spell into the brush.

The commentators said, “Both teams are doing standard openers. GOD’s new mid–laner, Phoenix, throws out her second skill, but no one’s in the bush. Wait, Lark seems to be moving into the bush.”
No sooner had the commentators said that than Sydney entered the bush and was instantly frozen. The2/3
