Chapter 56 Room 1005
Hubert’s gaze swept across the room, then suddenly paused. His brow furrowed. “What is she doing here
“Who?” Douglas, who had an arm slung over Hubert’s shoulder, followed his line of sight.
“Lea.”
“What? What’s that girl doing here? You sure you’re not seeing things?”
Hubert’s frown deepened. “No way I’m wrong.” As he spoke, he shrugged Douglas’s arm off and was about to head over.
“Hey, hang on. You’re not gonna find her like that. Let me speak with the staff and check the cameras. Let’s go to the private room first–Tony’s still waiting for us. If we get anything, then we can go check on your girl, alright?” Douglas quickly pulled him back. He figured Hubert was so love–struck he was seeing things. After all, how would a girl like that even get in here?
Caught between his friend and Azalea, Hubert stopped in his tracks.
For now, he could only go along with what Douglas said.
Azalea had been asking around as she walked and luckily managed to stop a waiter.
“Oh, I think I remember the person you’re talking about. She went into private room 1005.”
“Thank you!“.
“Wait, you look like you’re still a student, right?”
The waiter was a young man in uniform. He gave her a kind look and said, “Listen, I really wouldn’t go over there if I were you. The people in that room are involved in some shady business. If you go in, it might be hard to get out.”
“Thank you for the warning, but my friend is still inside.”
Azalea gave him a sincere thank you but didn’t slow down.
Riley had been acting distracted the whole dinner. If something really was going on and she didn’t say word about it, then it had to be serious.
That made it all the more urgent. Azalea was scared something had already happened.
Her heart was racing, and her steps quickened. When the final match lineup had been announced, she’d seen Riley’s ID–Cosmos–and that’s when she finally remembered who she was.
In her past life, when she helped Bastian’s team compete, the most unforgettable team she went up against
had a coach named Cosmos.
No wonder she hadn’t recognized her–Riley had dressed like a guy back then and went by the name Jonah instead of Riley. Azalea hadn’t looked too deep into Cosmos at the time; she just remembered the coach had been insanely good and gave her a hell of a hard time.

Chapter 56 Room 1005
Even if it wasn’t about their past connection, just from a strategle standpoint, a coach like that was far too valuable to losel
Azalea shoved the private room door open. The moment she saw what was inside, her eyes lit up with rage. “Riley!”
The lighting inside was dim and hazy, the kind of soft red glow that screamed trouble. Just a moment ago, sleazy laughter had echoed through the room.
Riley had collapsed on the floor, one hand clutching a liquor bottle, the other weakly gripping the edge of the glass coffee table. Five or six empty bottles lay scattered around her.
Her oversized T–shirt was being yanked down from the shoulder by a greasy hand. Her smooth, bare shoulder was nearly completely exposed, but she didn’t seem to notice.
Her head, drooped and heavy, only responded to the sound of the door slamming open. She stiffly turned to look, even struggling to open her eyes.
Those eyes that were usually so bright and clear were now glassy and unfocused. She clearly wasn’t in her right mind.
On the couch facing the door sat a burly man with a nasty scar running across his face. He looked older- probably around 50. At his feet was another man, beaten and bruised, sobbing and begging like his life depended on–it.
“Blaze, please! I gave you ten million already–just let my sister go! Please, we’ll do anything. Just let us go!”
The scar–faced man, called Blaze, didn’t even flinch. He slammed his foot into the man’s head and ground his heel into his cheek. His eyes swept over Azalea, slowly and disgustingly, taking in every inch. “What, one girl’s not enough to pay your debt, so now you’re offering me another one?”
A thug near the door caught on quick. He shoved Azalea inside and slammed the door shut behind her. “Looks like Jonah’s finally showing some respect! This new one’s way better looking than the other one, huh, Mr. Cooper? Hehe.”
That last laugh was full of implications.
Blaze burst into laughter, too. “Once I’ve had my fun, you guys can have them both.”
Azalea instinctively took two steps back, clutching at her collar. Her brows knitted together. Damn it- she’d been reckless. Charging in like this had put her in just as much danger.
Even if she’d just given Wylie a heads–up, anything would’ve been better than this.
On the floor, Riley finally seemed to snap back a little. When she saw who had barged in, her pupils shrank. She struggled to her feet, then grabbed the bottle in her hand and smashed it on the head of the guy groping her. “If you lay a finger on her, I swear I’ll kill you!”
Jonah, who had just been sobbing and begging for mercy moments ago, completely broke down again when he saw Riley take a swing at one of Blaze’s men. He wailed like the sky was falling, instantly crumpling like wet paper. “Riley, are you out of your mind? How could you hit him? Hurry up and apologize! We can still beg–we can fix this!”
He didn’t want Riley to get hurt–but he also really didn’t want to piss off Blaze.

Riley stepped in front of Azalea protectively. Azalea reached out and helped steady her, giving her a look that said, What the hell’s going on?
“My brother, he gambled and owes them money,” Riley muttered through clenched teeth. She turned her head away, not daring to meet Azalea’s eyes.
