Chapter 66 Consequences
He then added, “I wasn’t sure if we should post this yet, so I wanted to check with you first”
He slid the tablet over to Cassius.
To protect Sydney from backlash over using a ghostwriter, Cassius found someone else to take the blame.
It was just like in the previous life. When Sydney was accused of copying someone’s work, the Larks made Azalea the scapegoat.
This time, Cassius picked one of Sydney’s followers. After joining Jubilee, Sydney didn’t hide her connection to the Larks. Naturally, some people started sucking up to her.
Cassius promised the girl that she would get the chance to study abroad, and the Larks would cover all the costs. The offer was tempting, so she agreed. In return, she must tell everyone she had a close relationship with Sydney. To gain Sydney’s trust, she messed with one of Sydney’s art projects without telling her.
Whether people believed the story or not, things would at least appear settled on the surface. If Sydney stepped up to apologize and willingly left Jubilee, she could easily go from being a shameless plagiarist into an unwitting victim.
People might even feel bad for her, thinking she left school because someone else set her up.
Besel schoo
Cassius frowned. It was a small issue in his eyes. But when he saw the video from the school gate, his mood shifted.
What was his mother doing this time?
Seeing Cassius‘ expression, the assistant carefully added, “Mrs. Lark made a scene at Ms. Azalea’s school this morning. Now there’s a new story going around online. In the video, Ms. Azalea says she made many of Ms. Lark’s award–winning pieces for her.
“Ms. Lark has just been exposed for hiring someone to do her work, and the internet’s already buzzing. If we post this now, the blame could shift to Ms. Azalea instead.”
In the past, the assistant wouldn’t have hesitated. Between the two heiresses, his boss‘ choice was obvious.
But now, the assistant wasn’t so sure. Things weren’t so simple anymore.
Cassius smiled bitterly. If he made a move, Skyler would step in. With over 100 million followers, anything Skyler said would cause a massive stir.
If that happened, Azalea would be in trouble.
Should he release it?
If he backed down now, he’d have a hard time explaining to his mother. Their family and company might take a hit as well. But if he went ahead, Azalea would get caught in the fallout.
Still, Cassius had made up his mind.
“Go ahead and post it,” he said. Maybe later, he could find a way to make it up to Azalea.

His voice was hoarse. “That necklace from the last auction–get it ready for me
Just as he predicted, once his assistant posted the statement using a popular media account, Skyler’s team instantly reacted.
As the youngest multi–award–winning actor, Skyler had a high influence online, especially with the so- called “evidence” circulating.
“Things are getting wild now. Even Skyler is jumping in.”
“Who’s actually in the wrong here? Were the Larks treating Azalea badly, or is Azalea just trying to ruin Sydney’s name?”
“I trust Skyler! We’ve got your back, Sydney!”
“Let’s be real. Her mother and brother both spoke out against her. That says a lot.”
Most people wouldn’t think the Larks would turn on Azalea for an adopted daughter unless there was a
reason.
At a café in Kingsway Industrial Complex, Azalea checked the rental space with the person in charge and signed the contract.
Once the paperwork was put away, the person in charge didn’t underestimate the girl in front of him. She had joined the league only weeks ago, yet had already reached a level that most players never would.
Now, she was even opening her club. As for the mess going around online, he didn’t care. Whoever paid was the boss.
“Ms. Azalea, since everything is settled, I’ll get back to work if there’s nothing else.”
“Alright. Thanks for your time,” she replied with a polite smile.
After he left, Azalea glanced down. Her phone, which she’d set to silent, lit up again with another call from an unknown number.
This time, she picked up.
“Hello?”
“I warned you, didn’t I? This is what happens when you don’t listen!”
It was Ivy, and she sounded smug.
Azalea moved the phone away from her ear and quickly checked the latest online posts. She had expected a new scheme, but it was the same old scapegoat trick.
She knew their tactics far too well. In her previous life, she couldn’t even remember how many times she’d been pushed out to take the blame for Sydney.
So, when she chose to reveal Sydney’s true colors, she already knew the Larks would just replace her with another scapegoat.

Do you mean to live an easier life?” Azalea smiled.
She looked at the contract she’d just signed. She had launched her club, written software, and even started a business. Those things had once felt impossible in her previous life. But now, she was making them real step by step.
