Chapter 68 Mystery Unraveled
Previously, Wylie’s actions could be dismissed as simply protecting his team member, the esports team being just another passing whim of the wealthy young master with no real stakes involved.
The officials had assumed the Lennoxes wouldn’t intervene significantly over such matters, so they’d granted Wylie face by remaining publicly neutral. But now that Azalea had outright stated the club was funded by the Lennoxes, if cheating allegations against her proved true, it would mean the club’s demise before it even properly got off the ground.
At the very least, the Lennoxes would lose the 60–million investment spent on securing the league slot.
No family, no matter how wealthy, would ignore such a massive financial blow.
The Glory League officials began hesitating. Their latest statement still stopped short of clearing Azalea’s name, but its wording noticeably tilted in her favor.
What truly escalated the situation was a social media post from Anexis. While not directly addressing the cheating allegations, when even opponents acknowledged her victory as legitimate, public scrutiny over potential cheating naturally faded.
Only one puzzle remained: Why would Riley, as a coach, come forward to accuse Azalea?
If Riley’s claims were false, why hadn’t Azalea, now the club owner, taken any action against her? Was Azalea truly some saint who’d forgive such betrayal with a smile?
But if Riley’s accusations were true, even if the league turned a blind eye, would Anexis have done the same? Would Anexis–backed by Bastian–really tolerate surrendering their championship trophy without consequence?
This mystery unraveled when a video surfaced.
Because those accusations had never come from Riley in the first place!
After receiving Azalea’s message, Riley immediately took leave and rushed home, arriving so early that her family hadn’t expected her.
When she opened the door, she found her parents and brother gleefully admiring a bank card.
With a cold laugh, Riley snatched the card and snapped it in half. “Without my consent, you impersonated me to slander my friend? Do I even exist to you as a daughter or sister anymore?”
Guilt flashed across the Romanovs‘ faces. Since Jonah’s gambling addiction took hold, Riley had shouldered the household burdens while her parents scrambled between work and debts.
Their remorse toward her was undeniable.
Originally named Irene, Riley had adopted a more masculine name and cropped her hair to appear tougher.
Despite Jonah’s broken promises and her parents‘ enabling tears, she’d stubbornly tried dragging the entire family from the mire.

But this time, her heart turned to icc.
She’d finally gained real earning power, yet her parents had instantly sacrificed her for the fortune Sydne. dangled before them.
They never once considered what she would go throug to her. All they cared about was that their son could shat away with an enormous sum on top of it.
Jonah winced at the destroyed bank card. “Riley, let

Wendy fretted, “Riley, that Azalea girl can’t be more important than your brother!”
“No. I’m doing this for myself.”
Riley was serious, and her grave tone made all three shrink back.
“My grades are poor, as you know. Not long ago, I became a coach and led my team to a championship. The prize money alone was over 10 million dollars. I’ve now officially been hired as the head coach of the club. On top of a six–figure monthly salary, I’ll also earn a cut from future tournament wins.”
She held up the broken card. “So tell me–do you want this bit of cash, or do you want me to keep earning for the family long–term?”
“S–six figures?!” Ronald gasped. That equaled his lifetime earnings.
Jonah was floored too. His sister had struck gold. Unlike their parents, who only understood salary and bonuses, Jonah grasped how much hidden income this career could bring.
Wendy clutched her chest in regret. “We messed up, didn’t we?”
If Riley’s sternness was the stick, her financial revelation became the carrot.
The carrot–and–stick approach–Azalea’s advice–worked surprisingly well.
Riley raised her eyebrows, suppressing a smile and putting on a somber face. “As long as you, Mom, Dad, and Jonah record a video apologizing and explaining what you did, everything will be fine.”
“What are we waiting for, Jonah? Get your phone!” Ronald slapped his thigh, wishing he could become a phone himself.
Jonah hastily fished out his device,
In the unnoticed corner, Riley allowed herself a small, triumphant smile. Checkmate.
Once the video went live, everything clicked into place. With Sydney revealed as the instigator, the entire situation became crystal clear–this was nothing but a calculated scheme to throw mud at Azalea, whitewash her reputation, and frame an innocent person through outright slander.
