Chapter 314
Jimmy reached out his hand and introduced himself with alm look. “Jimmy.”
Glen shook his hand.
As their gazes met, it was as if both men were silently saying the same thing: May the best man win.
Once they let go, Jimmy turned his attention back to Maggie Is my coming here bothering you?”
It was.
But she answered tactfully, “A little.”
“Sorry. I figured it might, but I still came,” he said. “Because thought unless I try, I won’t know if you’ll change your mind. Now that I’ve tried and got my answer, I’ll be more mindful moving forward.”
Was he saying he planned to keep pursuing her?
Before she could reply, Jimmy turned to Johnny. “Maybe I’ll save the tour for next time. I won’t disturb you guys any further today.”
Johnny had a good impression of Jimmy. If Maggie were to start a new relationship post–divorce, Jimmy seemed like
a solid candidate.
But since Maggie didn’t seem interested right now, he didn’t want to interfere too much.
So he simply said politely, “You’re welcome at Cole anytime, Mr. Hall.”
Jimmy nodded. Just before turning to leave, he looked at Maggie again. Seeing her quiet expression, he seemed as though he wanted to ask something. But in the end, he didn’t
Instead, he just said, “See you next time.”
Maggie replied, “…Take care.”
After Jimmy left, Glen realized something: he had assumed Maggie and Jimmy were already dating, but it turned out Jimmy was pursuing her unilaterally–and Maggie had outright rejected him.
This discovery greatly lifted Glen’s mood.
A short while after Jimmy left, the news that a handsome man had come to see Maggie at the company quickly spread among.the Cole staff.
“A hottie? Was that Ms. Miller’s husband?” someone asked.

Chapter 414
At that moment, Glen was sitting at his desk, one hand on the mouse. His hand froze in place as if he couldn’t believe what he’d just heard.
Before he could speak, another colleague chimed in, “At first Mary–the receptionist–thought so too. But based on their conversation, it seemed like that guy was just chasing her, not her husband.”
“No way. A young stud chasing her all the way to the office? You think Ms. Miller’s husband knows about this?”
Glen couldn’t take it anymore. He interrupted, “Wait… are you saying Maggie is married?”
“Yeah,” One of a colleague answered casually. “You didn’t know?”
Glen was stunned. “No, I didn’t.”
At first, he had thought Maggie and Johnny were a couple. But after working at the company for a while, he noticed something was off. They were close, yes–but they never went to or left work together, and never acted overly affectionate. Their relationship was warm but restrained.
That realization had prompted him to ask Maggie directly, and she had told him herself: they weren’t dating.
Her colleague thought for a moment and added, “Oh right, you joined this year. The older employees all know about it, but we haven’t talked about her personal life in a long time. I guess it makes sense you didn’t know.”
Glen fell silent.
The fact that Maggie was married had completely blindsided him.
After a pause, he asked, “Then… what kind of person is her husband? Have any of you seen him? Are they… close?”
“Only saw half of his silhouette once in a video call. Never got a clear look at his face,” Another colleague replied.
“As for their relationship… hard to say. But now that you mention it, she’s been at Cole for quite a while, and other than that one time her husband’suddenly popped up during a video conference last year, we’ve never seen him again. And she’s never mentioned him, either…”
