At the Japanese restaurant, I buried my head in embarrassment, my index finger nervously
spinning.

Olivia flirted, “Is this the childhood friend you said keeps pestering you?”
My chest tightened, and a wave of humiliation surged through me.

Finally, his gaze lingered on Alex.

Alex took a sip of his drink, raised his eyes, and smiled calmly.
“You!? Do you even know she’s an orphan? You can’t just bully her like this!*
John ‘s eyes turned red with anger.
It seemed like he was ready to pick a fight with Alex!
His words felt like a sharp thorn, stabbing deep into my heart.
I was so overwhelmed with emotion that my eyes quickly filled with tears.
So, all this time, John had only pitied me?
“So, what if she doesn’t have parents? That doesn’t mean no one loves her,”
