The door was knocked on, and Kaylee heard her mother’s lowered voice from outside.
“Kaylee, are you awake?”
Kaylee had already been awake for half an hour, and she quickly went to open the door.

Margot entered, followed by a group of ten or so attendants, each holding a luxurious gown and matching high heels.
Margot also took out a box and handed it to Kaylee. “This is the new phone I bought for you. I’ve already taken care of the SIM card and everything.”
“And here’s the evening gown I prepared for you tonight. Take a look and see which one you like.”
“You can change into it, and we can head downstairs for the banquet.”
Kaylee took the phone. “Thank you, Mom.”
She glanced at it and saw that it was a limited edition Vitu Cobra.
Then, among the gowns, she chose the most understated mermaid–style dress.
The gown was designed in a mermaid style, with a sparkling hem that shimmered like sunlight on the surface of the sea.
When Kaylee put it on and stepped out of the room, Margot froze for a moment. The people around them gasped in admiration.
With the flowing skirt, she looked like a mermaid princess emerging from the deep sea.
