Love Story3–Chapter 1
“Hello, Ms. Davis. The ice jade necklace you ordered has already been fully paid for and picked up by your husband this afternoon.”
“Because it was your husband, we assumed he was picking it up on your behalf and didn’t
notify you.”
I was a bit surprised when I received the call from the jewelry store.
The material of that necklace alone was something I’d waited months for, and only by using
my VVIP status could I get it.
Since it was a custom piece, the chain also had my initials engraved on it. But I hadn’t told
Lukas Clark about this, had I?
My tone grew slightly cold. “That necklace was meant for the company’s annual meeting tonight. There can’t be any mistakes.”
The sales assistant immediately reassured me.
“Don’t worry, Ms. Davis. Your husband mentioned it was for the annual meeting, so we assumed he wanted to surprise you. You two must be very in tune with each other.”
Hearing this, I felt a little more at ease.
Three years of marriage. Though it was a family arrangement, Lukas Clark had always treated me with love and affection, never once cold or indifferent.
In public and private, he was the perfect husband.
I smiled faintly. He must’ve wanted to buy me a necklace to match my dress, but by mistake, he’d bought the one I had customized.
I adjusted my neatly styled hair and smiled at the makeup artist. “The makeup and dress are as planned. Let’s put on the necklace last.”
But an hour before the event started, the driver had already come three times to remind
me, and the necklace still hadn’t arrived.

As I waited, my mood gradually darkened.
The assistant, too afraid to look at my expression, whispered, “Should I call Lukas Clark?”
“No need,” I said coldly. “Time waits for no one. Just use the backup necklace.”
Before and after marriage, I was known not only for my prominent family background but also for my remarkable abilities and dazzling beauty.
ven though I wasn’t at my best tonight, I still received an overwhelming wave of
admiration when I walked into the venue.
But only I knew–it could’ve been perfect if the right necklace had arrived.
The sparkling diamond necklace was certainly eye–catching, but it didn’t compare to the
jade necklace I had my heart set on.
Then, there was a commotion at the door.
I turned toward the sound and froze.
Lukas Clark walked in, dressed in a sharp suit, with his assistant Farah White on his arm,
wearing full makeup, looking shy and charming.
And hanging around her neck, to my shock, was my ice jade necklace.
Under everyone’s watchful eyes, Lukas and the other woman walked in together, hand in
hand, like the hosts of the event.
“Urja, this is Farah White, whom I told you about.”
“She’s been with the company for only a short while, but even as an intern, she’s managed to sign several deals worth over a billion. She’s a real asset.”
“She’s still young and hasn’t been in many big events, but since she’s one of our key players,
I thought I’d bring her along.”
As Lukas spoke, Farah White looked up at him with eyes full of admiration and affection.
When Lukas signaled for her to greet me, she snapped out of her daze and extended her

hand toward me.
“Hello, Ms. Davis. I’m Farah White.”
I looked at her and smiled.
“Farah, you’re young and beautiful, and your outfit is radiant. That jade necklace you’re wearing reminds me of the one I waited for at Van Cleef & Arpels for half a month.”
rah nervously pulled back her hand, glancing at Lukas.
Lukas Clark, however, remained unfazed. “Farah has done a lot for the company. She didn’t
have a necklace to match her outfit, so I simply bought her one.”
“You have so many pieces of jewelry, they could borrow some for a jewelry exhibition. I’m
sure you won’t mind such a small thing.”
felt a wave of disgust like never before.
This man, once someone I thought I knew and trusted, had now become utterly repulsive.
But the spotlight was still on me, and I couldn’t let myself act out of character.
Turning away, I flashed a bright smile. “Let the annual meeting begin.”
Since I was young, no matter where I went, I was always the center of attention, the focal
point of flowers and applause.
Tonight was no different.
On stage, I stood elegant and composed, presenting the year’s achievements to our partners
and employees.
Down below, Lukas Clark, aside from talking with business partners, kept glancing toward
Farah White’s direction.
She, by rank, had been placed in a dull corner of the room.
I could see how uncomfortable she was sitting with the large dress, but she held her head high, trying to show off the necklace around her neck.

Occasionally, she would make eye contact with Lukas, sharing a silent, sweet smile.
My gaze grew even colder.
