Chapter 7
Especially Lukas Clark, who stared at me in disbelief. “Urja, are you really going to be with
him?”
I looked at him coldly. “So what if I am?”
On our wedding day, you’re welcome to come and have a drink with us.”
“Someone, show them out!”
“You-!” Lukas Clark seemed to want to say something more, but in the blink of an eye, he and his parents were surrounded by a dozen burly international bodyguards, who politely
escorted them out.
Not satisfied with that, I applied for a restraining order that very night.
From now on, any attempt by the Clark family to approach me or my family would result in
immediate arrest.
Thanks to Cabot Wilson, a law student prodigy, the divorce proceedings went smoothly.
The first day after I was officially free, I felt like I could finally breathe again.
Finally, everything was over.
“Thank you, Cabot Wilson.” I turned to look at him. “If it weren’t for you today, I wouldn’t know how long they would have kept bothering me.”
Cabot Wilson smiled back at me. “Urja Davis, what I said earlier wasn’t a joke.”
“Huh?” I was stunned. “What did you say?”
“I asked if you would marry me.” He looked at me seriously. “I’m serious.”
At that moment, I was completely taken aback.
Cabot Wilson took a small box from his pocket and opened it. Inside was a glittering diamond ring.

“Urja, Davis, will you marry me?” He knelt down on one knee, gazing at me with deep affection. “I will spend my life protecting you and loving you.”
Looking into his eyes, filled with determination and passion, I suddenly felt that maybe this was the love I had been waiting for all along.
In front of others and behind closed doors, he was the perfect husband.
What shocked me even more was when the ring slid onto my finger perfectly–it fit just
Aight.
Cabot Wilson blinked. “Oops, looks like my long–planned scheme has been exposed.”
I stared at him in surprise. “I didn’t realize you were so patient.”
“There’s a lot you haven’t realized yet.”
He interlaced his fingers with mine and slowly leaned in. “In time, you’ll find out.”
Three months after the divorce, the Clark family made headlines in the financial news.
When I had married Lukas Clark, the Clark family’s resources had skyrocketed, but they
hadn’t been able to handle their newfound wealth. They chose to invest heavily, losing
everything.
When the divorce news broke, their investors pulled out, and they couldn’t withstand the pressure from the broken cash flow. They had no choice but to declare bankruptcy.
The day the court sealed their assets, Faraf, pregnant with Lukas’s child, was kneeling on
the ground, crying uncontrollably.
Lukas’s mother helped her away, claiming they couldn’t disturb her precious grandson’s
peace.
After that, Lukas Clark came to the Davis family several times, but each time he was
escorted out by security before he could even enter the door.
A week later, the Clark family appeared in the news again–but this time, it was on the
social section.

The night before the creditors took their mansion, Lukas Clark set the house on fire.
No one survived; the entire family perished in the flames.”
By the time I saw the news, I was already on my honeymoon in Bali with Cabot Wilson.
I sighed and put my phone aside.
I leaned back in Cabot Wilson’s strong arms and enjoyed the evening breeze.
All the shadows were behind me now.
What awaited me was nothing but a beautiful tomorrow.
