After finding a secluded spot to hide, I opened my tablet. As expected, the message that popped up was from Daniela,
“Are you with her?”
You promised to spend today with me.”
“Where are you? Speak up.”
At that moment, I fully understood that Austin and Daniela shared an extraordinary relationship.
“She’s here, I can’t break away,”
“Send me the address. I’ll come to you.”
“Yesterday at the restaurant, you came without saying a word, almost blew our cover.”
“I just can’t stand seeing you with her. I get angry when I see the necklace around her
neck.”
“Stop causing trouble. Who knew she’d suddenly come back that night? Luckily, I thought fast and said it was for our ten–year anniversary. Otherwise, she would’ve found out.”
What does that mean? Austin is saying that Daniela was also in the room that night? That must mean she was hiding in our bedroom.
I remembered that Austin’s shirt collar had been crooked that night, and a bitter feeling rose in my chest. Austin, you cheated on me, and worse, in our bedroom… Saying it was for our ten–year anniversary was just an excuse for your affair.
I kept reading their messages.
“It’s just a necklace, I’ll make it up to you.”
Daniela sent Austin a cute emoji, acting like a lovesick girl.

“Also, I swiped a dress from her closet last time. When can we meet so I can return it? Don’t
let her find out.”
“Don’t worry, she has plenty of dresses, she won’t miss one. It’ll take her a while to notice.*
Austin had no idea that dress was something he had bought for me after working multiple summer jobs to save up the money. He had completely forgotten.
I thought about it and tears filled my eyes uncontrollably.
Their conversation continued.
“Ugh, last time I left in such a hurry, I didn’t even put my clothes on properly. Did you hide my clothes after I left?”
“I took care of it, don’t worry.”
I couldn’t help but remember how he had told me to close my eyes so he could prepare a surprise. It turned out he was just cleaning up the traces of their affair, and the sound of the door opening must have been when Daniela was leaving.
“You’ve been chatting with me this long, hasn’t Angela Clark noticed?”
“She went to the bathroom.”
“Since she’s not around, I can come see you, right? You like this kind of excitement, don’t
you?”
Austin glanced around to confirm he didn’t see me and quickly sent his location.
Seeing Austin’s actions, I completely gave up on him.
Is he that eager to cheat? Fine, I’ll give him that chance.
I took out my phone and opened the chat to send Austin a message.
“Austin, I don’t feel well, I think my period started. I’m going home now.”
I looked at Austin from a distance, spat under my breath, and then without hesitation, I tossed the ice cream I had been holding into the trash.

But he still acted concerned.
“Angela, is everything alright? Should I get a taxi and come back right now?”
“It’s not serious. I’ll just sleep it off at home.”
“Alright, I’ll come by later. You take a rest.”
Austin exited the chat with me and sent a message to Daniela.
“She’s gone home. You can come to see me now, it’s a way to make up for it.”
“Pfft, what kind of compensation is that… Fine, I’ll wait for you, I’m on my way.”
Twenty minutes later, Daniela finally joined Austin. I took out my phone and started the
familiar process, switching to video mode.
Austin naturally put his arm around Daniela, and the two of them walked through the
amusement park, visiting the attractions we hadn’t finished exploring. They drank from the
same cup and ate the same ice cream. I moved closer to them, positioning my phone so it
could record their conversation.
“Austin, when are you planning to break up with her?”
“There’s no rush. She still holds 20% of the company’s shares. I have to get that from her
first.”
“I’ll wait for your good news.”
After recording enough evidence, I left the scene.
Back home, I changed into my pajamas and lay down on the bed. Not long after, Austin came in, holding a bowl of hot soup.
“Angela, Angela… Wake up, I brought you some warm milk. Get up and drink a little.”
Austin acted like the perfect boyfriend. Just a moment ago, he had been sweet with his little lover, and now he could hide the evidence so well, I couldn’t see through him anymore.
