Chapter 11
I was about to say something when suddenly, someone appeared at the door–it was a delivery guy.
“Hello, sir, your delivery has arrived.”
told the delivery guy to leave the food at the door. After picking up the order, I carefully looked at the receipt, and it clearly said “Grilled Fish.” Thinking back to the grilled fish Austin had made for me before, I said, “Austin, grilled fish is also something she loves, right?”
Austin couldn’t answer. His silence was all the answer I needed.
“I should have known. You clearly know I never eat fish, yet you still made it.”
“Austin, do you remember what you promised me? Do you remember what today is?”
Austin clearly didn’t remember. He had spent these past few days with Daniela, and the days passed so quickly that he even forgot what day of the week it was.
It was only then that he looked at his phone, glanced at the time, and his face immediately turned pale.
“Angela, I…”
“Don’t call my name. You really disgust me.”
My gaze swept over all of them, finally landing on the little girl’s shoes. I recognized those
shoes–they were the same ones I had seen the university student wearing at the house next
door.
“You live next door to us, don’t you?”
When I asked, the girl trembled, almost losing her balance.
Seeing this, Austin immediately stepped forward to support her.
“You’re still protecting her?”

“Angela, don’t be hard on her. She’s timid, she can’t handle being scared.”
“Austin, what’s wrong with you? At a time like this, you’re still concerned about her life or death? She’s too timid to handle this, yet she dares to come here and join you for a threesome? You’ve been sending text messages to my phone–you think I don’t check my phone, Austin?”
“Daniela, you’re already married, yet you’re still with him? Do you just love picking trash
out of a garbage bin?”
“What? You’re married?”
Austin obviously didn’t know about this, and Daniela looked confused, hurriedly denying it.
“I’m not, Angela, stop spreading rumors.”
Her reaction didn’t seem fake, and for a moment, I began to doubt. But the information I
had gathered clearly stated she was married.
Before I could react, a sharp pain suddenly struck the back of my head, and then I
collapsed, my vision fading. I could only hear faint voices around me.
“You talk too much. What are you two still standing there for? Since you’ve been díscovered, why aren’t you making a move?”
Austin was stunned by the sudden turn of events. He looked toward Zuri Torres, who had somehow appeared behind me.
Zuri, the girl from next door, now looked entirely different. Gone was the timid look from
before. Her face was emotionless, and she held a wooden stick in her hand.
“Wait…”
“Now you’re feeling sorry for her? When we were discussing selling her to northern
Myanmar, you didn’t feel sorry. You can’t back out now. Jack’s waiting for the goods.”
“First, send the money,” Austin said.
Zuri fiddled with her phone for a few moments, and the money was transferred

immediately.
“Mr. Walker, you really live up to your reputation as a businessman.”
Austin glanced at me, still lying on the floor, and then looked away. Daniela, frightened, hid
in his arms, not making a sound.
He pulled out a contract he had already prepared and threw it on the ground. “This is the
stock transfer agreement. Let her leave a fingerprint. You can take her now.”
“I underestimated Mr. Walker. I thought you’d be reluctant because of the ten years you spent together. Now I can rest easy.”
“She’s just a woman. I’ve long grown tired of her. If it weren’t for my family pushing me, I wouldn’t have rushed into preparing for marriage.”
Daniela, though uncomfortable with his words, chose to remain silent.
“Well then, thank you, Mr. Walker. But won’t her family wonder if she just disappears?”
“Don’t worry, she lost both parents when she was young. Aside from me, no one will
notice.”
With that, Zuri lifted my right hand, placing it in the ink pad. I could hear everything around me, but no matter how hard I tried, my eyes wouldn’t open. My eyelids felt so
heavy.
If I had known that Austin would sell me to northern Myanmar for this so–called stock, I
would have never been with him.
Just as my finger was about to touch the contract, sirens suddenly sounded from outside, and everyone in the room froze in place.
