Chapter 7
The night before the wedding
Patrick was too nervous to sleep,
He called me repeatedly, his words fragmented.
“Linda, we’re getting married tomorrow. I’m so nervous.”
“Linda, you’ll definitely be the most beautiful bride.”
“Linda, is this a dream? I’m really going to marry you.*
“Linda…”
I mostly responded with indifferent answers.
Suddenly, he asked, “Linda, why is it so noisy over there? Aren’t you at home?”
I replied coolly, “I’m at home, maybe it’s the sound from the TV.
There was a brief silence on the other end, then he suspiciously asked, “You’re watching
TV?”
“Mm, just listening to the noise.”
Patrick didn’t seem to suspect anything and ended the call after a few more words.
After hanging up, I turned to look around.
The airport was bustling with people.
Passersby hurried by, each carrying their luggage, heading to their destinations.
The announcement echoed over the speakers.
I grabbed my luggage and strode forward, taking one last look at the city I’d lived in for more than twenty years.

I smiled, leaving without hesitation.
Goodbye.
Patrick.
است
I hope the wedding gift I’m sending you will meet your expectations.
After more than ten hours of travel, I was physically and mentally exhausted.
I slept soundly, the world dark and peaceful.
By the time I landed, it was already the next day.
James Spencer had been waiting for me at the arrivals hall.
He smiled warmly, unchanged from when we first met.
“Welcome to the country!”
My nose suddenly felt a bit sour, and I opened my arms to hug him.
“Senior, how come you haven’t changed at all?”
The man’s bone structure was still striking, and though the youthful edge had faded, a sense of maturity and stability had taken its place.
The charm of an adult man was fully on display.
We chatted and caught up.
Suddenly, he stared at me in surprise and pointed to my eyes. “Linda Smith, your eyes?”
I playfully blinked, “As you can see, they’re healed.”
He was both surprised and thrilled.
Considering I had just gotten off the plane and was tired, James arranged for me to stay a small apartment under the company’s name.

It was perfect for one person.
He suggested I rest first and come to the company tomorrow.
After arriving at the apartment.
I checked the time, and the wedding should be happening right now.
I turned on my phone, which had been off for a while.
The moment it powered on, countless missed calls and messages flooded in.
Most of them were from Patrick.
Some came from Patrick’s parents.
Patrick’s messages were frantic:
“Linda, the wedding is about to start, where did you go? Why aren’t you here yet?”
“The guests are waiting for you.”
As his patience wore thin, his tone grew harsher:
“Linda, I’m really angry now. Where are you?”
“Pick
up the phone!!!”
A mutual friend sent me a video.
The filmer had originally intended to capture a moment of happiness, but by accident, they had clearly recorded this farce instead.

In the video, Patrick stood anxiously at the center of the venue, waiting for the bride-
should have been walking through the door to start the ceremony.
But that door remained closed.
The guests began murmuring among themselves.

Patrick’s face was dark, head lowered as he quickly typed on his phone.
Meanwhile, Snow was seated in the most prominent spot, wearing a striking red dress.
At that moment, her lips couldn’t stop smiling.
She couldn’t help it, she just couldn’t hold it back.
Who else would be the happiest at a runaway bride but Snow?
But soon, her smile faded.
The screen that was meant to show the sweet moments of me and Patrick was suddenly
filled with explicit videos of them.
This was my gift to them, which I had carefully edited the night before.
And I had thoughtfully added mosaics for them.
The videos, taken from various angles and locations, exposed Patrick and Snow’s most
intimate moments over the past days.
The sounds were clearly recorded too.
“Fucking blind woman.”
“I love you, Snow.”
“Let’s get a thrill at the funeral parlor.”
The shocking words spilled from their mouths, showing everything–their cruelty to me,
their lingering love for each other, everything.
Both of them were stunned.
Mr. and Mrs. White were stunned.
The entire room of guests erupted.
Well well, here we are at a wedding, but we get to witness a never–before–seen drama.

Finally, the screen abruptly went black.
Four large words slowly appeared.
“I Can See.”
Snow went mad, rushing up and smashing a chair against the screen, yelling,
“This is fake, this is fake!”
“This is fabricated!”
Patrick’s face turned pale, and he still hadn’t recovered from the shock.
The crowd pointed and whispered.
What a scumbag man and a cheap woman!
Snow, with a guilty expression, instinctively grabbed Patrick’s hand, as if asking him what they should do.
Patrick shook her off impatiently, his expression cold. “Aren’t you making things worse?”
Mrs. White could no longer hide her true colors. She stormed up, her face red with rage, pulling at Snow’s hair.
“You slut, how dare you seduce my son.”
“This is all your fault.”
“I’ll kill you.”
