Chapter 8
Snow was screaming and running frantically in all directions.
A streak of red dashed through the hall, making her stand out like a sore thumb.
Mr. White couldn’t hold his composure. Enraged, he puffed out his cheeks and glared, his
eart failing to catch up with the sudden shock, and in the next moment, he collapsed right
there in the hall.
Snow and Patrick were completely socially dead.
Since my parents passed away early, my only family growing up was my grandfather.
Almost all the guests at this wedding were Patrick’s relatives, and our mutual friends.
In front of his family and friends, this romantic wedding turned into a complete circus.
It was nothing short of a farce.
Exactly what I had hoped for.
Patrick’s messages kept coming in.
He feigned innocence, still trying to defend himself.
“Wife, let me explain.”
“It’s not what you think. There’s nothing between me and Snow.”
“I was blinded. It’s all Snow’s fault. She seduced me.”
“Wife, your eyes are better now? Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Wife, tell me your address, I’ll come and apologize to you in person. Please.”
His crocodile tears, as fake as expired poison, made me feel disgusted.
He didn’t genuinely regret what he did. He just regretted not hiding it better so I wouldn’t

find out.
He dumped all the blame onto the girl, while he remained clean and blameless.
I really couldn’t stand him.
Snow might be dishonorable, but Patrick wouldn’t escape unscathed either.
I couldn’t help but reflect–how did I ever fall for someone like him?
Was it my infatuation that gave him a filter, as tough as tempered glass?
But all past events are just a prelude.
They don’t deserve to affect my new life.
My revenge had been fully realized, and it felt so satisfying.
After blocking all his contacts on every platform, I finally had some peace.
James Spencer was the most successful entrepreneur among our graduating class.
With his professional skills, he built a small studio into a thriving business, eventually
taking it public.
Although I had been blind for five years, I never stopped learning.
Listening to educational broadcasts had become my daily routine, something I never
skipped.
Though my skills might not match up to others right now, I was determined to catch up.
I had confidence in that.
I worked while studying.
Among my colleagues, there were many I knew from university, people who had followed James after graduation.
We all worked together toward a common goal.

This sense of fulfillment was incredibly satisfying,
No one asked me about Patrick,

Maybe they had already seen the news, maybe they knew all about my painful relationship.
Everyone silently avoided bringing it up, understanding without words.
I could feel their kindness.
But my peace didn’t last long.
One day, as I was leaving work, I saw a familiar face standing awkwardly downstairs.
Patrick.
He had actually found his way to the country.
In just a few days, he looked much older.
I heard from a friend that the fiasco at the wedding had been quite a big deal. Patrick’s company’s stock had plummeted.
The video had spread widely online, and even Snow’s and Patrick’s personal information had been doxxed.
Snow’s social media was flooded with vile insults every day.
Words like “homewrecker” and “shameless” were appearing constantly in her comments section.
Patrick looked like he was completely worn out from trying to deal with the fallout.
No surprise–who could handle something like this?
When his gaze met my face, a flicker of light appeared in his eyes.
He came toward me, trying to take my hand.
I stepped back without a word, putting distance between us.

Patrick’s expression showed clear pain, his eyes reddening, “Linda…“
I coldly responded, my words cutting straight to the point.
“Don’t come after me. I find you disgusting”
It seemed like a heavy blow to him. His eyes grew moist with hurt.
“I love you, Linda.”
“I can explain everything.”
My eyes held nothing but disgust.
I had never shown him such an expression before, and he trembled.
“Patrick, every word you say just makes me feel more disgusted. I don’t want you anymore.
He lowered his head, covering his face with his hands.
“Linda, don’t say that. I really love you. Me and Snow-”
“I just couldn’t accept it.”
“Couldn’t accept marrying you, you mean?”
His voice cracked, choked with emotion.
“Snow… it was just a youthful regret, a moment of madness.”
“You’ve already punished me. I don’t mind.”
“Can you give me one more chance? Come back to the country with me, please?”
