The phone rang just as Hazel settled onto my lap, her warmth distracting me from the quarterly reports scattered across my desk.
“Stella has been deliberately provoking Bianca since starting here. Our plan was exactly to create grounds for termination. We expected Bianca to lose control and reveal too much, but I never anticipated physical violence. How do I explain this to Adrian? Security will accompany you to Human Resources for immediate termination processing. I declared without hesitation.
