79 Chapter 79 – Shattered Hearts and Broken Promises
Ladies, perhaps things aren’t exactly as they appear. Maybe you should hear them out first, Noah attempted to defend them, but our collective glare made him immediately retreat. “Sorry, forget I said anything.”
“Stella, please, the pleasure was all ours. Those dresses are absolutely gorgeous, and we adore every single piece,” Chloe responded warmly.
I caught the eyes of my friends, and I could see they felt the same rage and heartbreak coursing through them. Chloe shot to her feet, grabbing Noah by his jacket with fierce determination.
“We’re leaving too, Owen. Now!” Thea stood up, her anger blazing openly. “What a complete disappointment you three are, but Liam, you’re absolutely the worst of them
all.”
“How would you feel about joining my team?” Liam asked, catching all of us completely off guard. Working at Sterling Collective would be an incredible opportunity for Stella. ‘Shut up, Owen! I want to tear your eyes out because you actually tried to convince me to go to that party,” I said through my tears, my voice breaking with emotion.
“Liam has some serious nerve,” Chloe’s fury was palpable.
“I do appreciate it, but this isn’t my forever career. The work is draining, not every customer is as wonderful as these ladies, and having to work weekends and holidays makes maintaining any kind of personal life nearly impossible,” Stella explained honestly,
“Ladies, I cannot express how grateful I am! What you purchased today has already secured my entire monthly sales quota. You are absolute angels!” Stella beamed at us. We all climbed into Chloe’s car. Throughout the entire drive as she dropped each girl at home, they tried desperately to comfort me. The truth was becoming painfully clear – being with Liam was impossible. He had shattered my heart once again, and this time felt like the final blow.
“Honestly, Stella, we should be the ones thanking you for making our ladies look absolutely breathtaking” Damian said, his eyes never leaving Scarlett’s face.

We stepped out of the boutique, and the guys guided us toward the restaurant on the third floor. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, exactly what we needed after our Shopping adventure.
Hazel’s POV
Her words hit me like a physical blow. A night of passion? On his office couch? The pain in my chest was suffocating. This was his version of being sorry? He had insisted I attend that party. For what purpose? To witness him with another woman? To humiliate me once again?
Liam turned his attention to Stella with genuine curiosity. “Stella, do you enjoy working at the boutique?”
The evening flowed beautifully, filled with animated conversation and laughter as Adrian regaled us with tales of their recent drunken escapades. The mood was perfect until three women appeared from nowhere, practically launching themselves onto Adrian’s, Liam’s, and Damian’s laps. My blood ran cold when I recognized one of them as Clairemont’s daughter.
“How could they possibly do this to us?” Scarlett’s voice shook with outrage.
e on,
Jasper, it’s getting late and we’re taking the girls home. Let’s go, ladies.
These three idiots can handle their own bill!”
“Stella, this is an extraordinary opportunity. Working there opens countless doors within the company. You should definitely explore this further with Liam,” I encouraged her, knowing how life–changing this could be.
Stella’s eyes found mine, silently seeking my opinion on the matter.
“You misunderstand me completely. Adrian has nothing to do with this decision. This is purely business, benefiting both of us. My current secretary will be terminated soon, and I need someone trustworthy in that position. Since Hazel hasn’t returned to her role yet, your business degree would be invaluable to me. For you, it means regular weekday hours and exceptional compensation,” Liam explained earnestly.
“Beauty and I were devastated you didn’t invite us to Evelyn’s party,” the woman draped across Damian’s lap whined in her grating voice. “We could have had such fun together, Irene, like we always do.”

“Come on. Thea, I’ll drive you home too, Chloe said, pulling Thea toward her car.
“Go home right now, Jasper. I’m taking the girls home myself, and we’ll discuss this later, Chloe commanded with authority. “But you better not be taking those clowns‘
side in this
“Liam, first you steal my employee, now you want my goddess too?!” Adrian protested dramatically, sending us all into laughter..
“Hey gorgeous! I have missed you desperately!” she purred, planting a kiss directly on Liam’s lips while her companions did the same with Adrian and Damian.
“Chloe, she lives with me, we’re going to the same place, there’s no need for you to drive her. Owen said, running his hands through his hair in frustration.
We rushed toward the exit, ignoring their desperate calls for us to wait, their claims that they could explain everything.
“I was just telling the girls about our incredible night of passion in your office during Evelyn’s party. That couch has become my absolute favorite place in the world.”
“The same warning applies to you, Owen,” Thea said, her voice dripping with
anger
“Liam, I appreciate the gesture, truly, but I know you’re only offering because Adrian asked you to. I cannot accept charity, even from someone as kind as you.” Stella replied. with the utmost sincerity and grace.
