Chapter 2
I wasn’t one to boast, but in all of Asia, the number of people who could call me “average” could be counted on one hand.
Seeing that I wasn’t responding, Nelson and Evelyn exchanged a glance, their faces showing impatience. But Nelson didn’t dare speak up.
Instead, he tugged at Evelyn’s sleeve like a child, twisting his body, and Evelyn looked at me with a pained expression, pointing at my nose and shouting,
“Don’t you understand what I’m saying? Why are you still standing here?”
“I’m telling you, if you don’t leave, I’ll call the police. I’ll have the cops drag you away. Let’s see how you’ll live after that!”
While saying this, she pulled out her phone and made a show of dialing the number for the police.
I wasn’t in the slightest bit frightened. I simply stared coldly at her, but Nelson panicked.
He snatched the phone from Evelyn’s hands and pulled her aside, speaking in a low voice, “Mom, didn’t I tell you? Just get rid of her. Don’t make this worse!”
Evelyn lowered her voice, though it still carried a powerful resonance.
“This slut isn’t going to give up on a good man like you without a fight. She won’t let you go unless she sees some consequences!”
She then turned to me and shouted, “You’re about to get promoted, get a raise, and marry a rich beauty. You don’t deserve him!”
Nelson jumped in shock at this, immediately covering his mother’s mouth.
“Mom, what are you doing? I’m about to get married. You know what my wife’s family is like. If
Shiny Forest, this poor girl, finds out, she’ll create a scene with my wife!”
“When I enter this wealthy family, my position is already unstable. If she causes a scene, how am I
supposed to hold my head high and manage my wife’s family’s business?”
Hearing this, Evelyn’s face turned purple with anger, and she slapped him repeatedly.
It all clicked into place for me.

seemed someone had introduced Nelson to a “rich, beautiful woman” from a wealthy family, so now he was eager to ditch me, this “poor” girl from an “average” background?
I wasn’t the kind of person to chase after someone who didn’t want me, but I had truly liked Nelson and even planned to spend my life with him.
But now, it was clear that I had fallen for the carefully crafted persona he had shown me. My heart chilled instantly.
However, after being deceived for so long, I wasn’t going to be the kind of person to just walk away quietly. I sat on the sofa and smiled coldly.
“Fine, you want to break up? But I have conditions.”
Nelson, no longer trusting Evelyn, blushed and muttered, “Conditions? I didn’t even make you pay me back for the emotional damage. What conditions do you have?”
I ignored Nelson and continued, “We’ve been together for three years. During these years, you’ve claimed you were saving money for a house, but you’ve spent quite a bit of my money.”
“Remember the last time I visited your mother and bought her a gift? You owe me for that too. If you
want to break up, pay me back.”
I pulled out my phone and roughly calculated the amount.

“Who do you you are? I haven’t even asked for compensation for my son’s nutrition fees ve and now you’re throwing this nonsense at me?”
“I’ll tell you right now, don’t push your luck. If you leave now, we can part ways peacefully.
But if you insist on causing trouble, I’ll show you just how dangerous Evelyn Wat can be.”
Ás she spoke, she cracked her knuckles and started walking toward me, clearly intending to get

“Second, there are cameras here. If you want the whole world to know that you owe your ex–girlfriend money and still have the nerve to hit her, go ahead. I’d love to see that.”
Evelyn froze at my words, pointing at me, stuttering, but unable to say anything coherent. Instead, she shot a pleading look at Nelson Jim.
Nelson, however, wasn’t much better. He stood there, seemingly deep in thought.
