Lena chimed in, “Yeali, totally. This one’s perfect.”
“Really?” Charlotte looked doubtful. “Since when do you two agree on anything?”
Lena gave her a sweet smile. “I’ve always liked this kind of cute, feminine style.”
Mia jumped in right away. “I heard from Ian that Sean’s wearing a tux tonight. If you wear this dress with him in a tux, you two will look absolutely perfect together!”
Charlotte glanced at the dress again. It really was beautiful. If Sean was going to be in formal wear, then she might as well go with this one.
The moment she stepped out in the dress, both Lena and Mia’s eyes lit up.
“This dress is so perfect on you, Lottie!” Mia gasped dramatically, covering her mouth. “Girl, you’re killing me–you look gorgeous!”
“Wow, you’re stunning. We definitely picked the right one,” Lena agreed, still in awe.
They both couldn’t help thinking that it was no wonder this dress had been custom–made for her by one of the world’s top designers. Sean had clearly gone all out.
Charlotte looked at herself in the mirror. She had to admit that it was beautiful, although perhaps a bit too formal and even a little over the top.
She turned and asked, “It’s just a small get–together for Sean’s birthday with a few close friends. Isn’t this too much?”
Mia shook her head immediately. “No, no, no. This is perfect. It’s your first time celebrating Sean’s birthday as his girlfriend. You should dress up and show that you care, right, Lena?”
Mia shot Lena a look, and Lena nodded like a bobblehead. “Exactly. It’s a special day. You should absolutely go all out.”
Charlotte thought about it and agreed. This was, after all, her first birthday with Sean as his girlfriend.
Looking at her reflection, she smiled softly. “Alright then. This one it is.”
The makeup artist gave her a light, sweet look to match, and left her long hair straight and sleek.
A style that simple could be unforgiving but Charloge pulled it off effortlessly. On the wrong person, straight hair could look dull. On her, it looked polished and elegant.
A little after seven that evening, Charlotte arrived at Sean’s villa for the party, with Mia and Lena by her side.
There were a lot of people. Besides their mutual friends like Lena, Mia, lan, and Jordan, there were also a few of Charlotte’s close colleagues from the firm and friends from Sean’s side.
Charlotte was a little surprised. Sean had never been the type to enjoy big crowds. Why had he

The villa was huge. Charlotte had never been here before. She had no idea where they were going, or what Mia was planning.
