Chapter 520
Mia took Charlotte’s hand and led her around the main villa toward the back.
The night sky was deep and clear, sprinkled with stars.
Strangely, aside from a few dim path lights along the way, there was no other source of light.
“Mia, you’re acting kind of weird,” Charlotte said.
“We’re here,” Mia suddenly announced.
“What?” Charlotte was completely confused.
Mia gave her a gentle push forward and smiled. “Sean wanted to watch the stars with you. Lena and I were just the delivery crew.”
Lena’s eyes curved with a smile. “Mission accomplished. We’ll leave you two alone.”
With that, they both turned and walked away.
Charlotte grew even more puzzled. She turned and saw Sean standing there.
Tonight, he was wearing a perfectly tailored black tuxedo with a peaked lapel, paired with a crisp white shirt. A black bow tie softened his usual cold, sharp look, adding a touch of elegance.
“Watch the stars?” Charlotte gave him a questioning look.
Sean’s gaze was warm and steady, a faint smile on his lips. “Mm. Watch the stars.”
He took her hand and led her a few steps forward.
By the faint light of the path lamps, Charlotte realized they were in a garden.
“Lottie, look up,” Sean said in a gentle voice.
She tilted her head toward the sky without much thought and then froze.
Brilliant streaks of light tore across the night, weaving a dreamlike trail through the darkness.
“A meteor shower!” Charlotte gasped.
“How is there a meteor shower? I didn’t see anything about it in the news.” She stared in awe and delight at the dazzling display above them. Usually, something like this would be announced in advance by the weather service.
As she tried to figure it out, Sean’s low, magnetic voice came through the night. “Because this meteor shower is falling just for you.”
Charlotte’s breath caught. She turned to him. “You arranged this?”
Sean made a quiet sound of affirmation. “Make a wish, Lottie.”
“It’s your birthday,” she said. “You should be the one making a wish.”

Sean’s eyes were filled with tenderness as he looked at her. His voice was low and rich. “My wish is to make all of yours come true.”
Her heart swelled. She closed her eyes, clasped her hands together, and made her wish under the rain of falling stars.
She wished her family and friends happiness and health. She wished for a long, loving life with Sean, and for them to remain together until their hair turned white.
When she finished, she opened her eyes, smiling brightly at the sky.
The meteor shower above felt like their love, blooming in the most spectacular way.
“So this is what you meant by watching the stars,” she murmured with a smile. “You meant watching meteors.”
Sean said nothing. He simply turned his head to look at her, his eyes filled with nothing but her.
While she watched the meteors, he only saw her.
Meanwhile, in the front garden of the villa, other guests tilted their heads toward the sky.
“Wow, a meteor shower!” Jenny exclaimed. “There’s a meteor shower!”
“That’s strange,” Sophie said. “If there was going to be one tonight, it should’ve been in the news. They always report rare events like this.”
“You’re right,” Jenny agreed. “That is weird.”
Mia, who had rejoined the group, smiled. “That’s because Sean had this one made just for Lottie. It’s an artificial meteor shower.”
“What? An artificial meteor shower?” Jenny’s eyes widened in disbelief. “That’s a thing? I’ve never even heard of it before.”
“Me neither,” Sophie said, still stunned. “And not only did I hear about it today, I actually got to see one. Honestly, it’s beautiful.”
