Alessandro drew her closet, his low laugh caressing her ear. “The privacy partition is up, darling. The driver can’t hear a thing, nor would he dare. Why so shy?”
Just as waves of pleasure threatened to crest, Aria clung to her typically reserved lover until a jarring ringtone
shattered their intimate moment.
Though visibly annoyed by the interruption, Alessandro’s expression shifted upon seeing the caller ID. Still catching her breath, Aria noticed it was from Marcus, his closest confidant in their elite circle.
“Alex, have you lost your”
Alessandro cut him off, switching smoothly to Italian. “In intaliano.”
After a weighted pause, Marcus complied in Italian: “Did you really marry Isabella? What were you thinking? You lost your sight saving her years ago, and when you hit rock bottom, she abandoned you for another man – she nearly destroyed you! Now you’re getting back together?”
Each word translated effortlessly in Aria’s mind, turning her blood to ice.
Alessandro, oblivious to her reaction, responded in Italian: “If I don’t marry her, her family will force her to marry some aging businessman. I can’t bear to see her suffer like that.”
“What about Aria? When you were blind, she was the only one by your side. She’s loved you for years, given you
everything – we’ve all seen it!”
Irritation edged into Alessandro’s cool tone: “I’ll find a way to hide it from her. She’ll never know.”
“How long can you hide it? Forever? Doesn’t Aria want to marry you?”
Growing increasingly agitated, Alessandro snapped: “Keep the news about Isabella and me quiet. Don’t tell anyone. I’ll get Aria a fake marriage certificate later.”
He ended the call abruptly, turning his attention back to Aria as if nothing had happened. Their passionate encounter reached its height, both finding release, though Aria’s body trembled imperceptibly.
As they began adjusting their clothes, Aria’s lips parted to speak, but Alessandro’s phone chimed with a priority
message.
After checking it, he called to the driver to stop. “Darling, there’s an emergency at the office. Would you mind taking a cab home from here?”
She nodded silently and stepped out. The black Maybach disappeared into traffic like a bolt of lightning.

Like a diamond emerging from dust, Alessandro’s brilliance was restored. Within just a year, he reclaimed his position at the pinnacle of society, becoming heir to the Valentini Group.
It was Aria who had stayed with him through winter and summer, from dusk till dawn, through those seven grueling years. It was Aria who shared his kisses, his embraces, his bed…
Yet she never imagined that his first act after regaining power would be to secretly marry Sofia, the woman who had abandoned him.
All these years, Aria had worked tirelessly to keep pace with him. But no matter how much she improved herself, Alessandro’s parents deemed her unworthy of their son, repeatedly trying to buy her off.
Alessandro often argued with his family on her behalf, and not wanting to disappoint him, she never thought of
leaving.
Until today.
Aría no longer wanted to stay by his side.
She wiped away her tears and pulled out her phone, dialing a number.
“Mrs. Valentini, I’m willing to accept your offer of five million euros to leave Alessandro forever.”
