- Danger & Desire
Ara’s POV
I pushed him away, “don’t spout nonsense.”
A chuckle left his lips. I could have never guessed what a flirt he was! Then he stepped back and turned around, ready to leave as if nothing happened.
“Come on, new recruit,” he called over his shoulder. “We’ve got rogues to report.”
He winked with a smile. And just like that, my new life began.
***A month later***
The waterfall cascaded around me, moonlight fracturing through the rushing water like liquid silver. I dipped beneath the surface again, letting the cool water soothe my aching muscles.
One month!
One month since I became a part of this pack..
One m
month of brutal training under Kade’s merciless regime.
Gods, that man is a demon in warrior’s clothing
These stolen midnight swims were my reward, I found this hidden waterfall in the woods. It was past midnight. No one comes here at these hours.
A month at this pack had hardened me, in a good way. And Lina’s medicines were working. No more blood from my nose or mouth.
I surfaced, pushing wet hair from my face. The secluded pool was my sanctuary. My clothes lay discarded on the riverbank, the thin fabric of my undergarments clinging to me like a second skin as I dived deeper. Suddenly my body went rigid. Someone was here! Why didn’t I sense him earlier?
Realization hit like a bucket of ice water. He was masking his scent.
Before I could react, a shadow detached itself from the trees.
Tall. Broad, Dangerous
He stepped into the moonlight, and my breath hitched.
Dark hair fell in careless waves over a face carved by the god himself. His storm–gray eyes ranked over me in a predatory focus.
“You shouldn’t be here,” he rumbled. The voice rolled over me like thunder–deep, velvety, and laced with amusement. “Bathing at this hour.
Every nerve in my body sparked to life.
“I could say the same to you,” I shot back, my voice steady despite my racing heart. The water lapped at my chest, but suddenly it wasn’t enough coverage.
Not with the way he was looking at me–like he wanted to devour me whole,
- Danger & Desse
“Rogues were spotted nearby.” he added, taking a step closer.
Focus, Ara! This man was a danger! He was looking for rogues!
I had to get away! I had to inform everyone.
Before I could bolt, he moved. One moment he was on the bank, the next, the water rippled around his waist as he closed the distance between us. My pulse hammered wildly as he stopped only inches away, his minty breath ghosting over my lips.
Goddess, he was tall.
He loomed over me, his torso was a landscape of hard muscles. My traitorous gaze dropped to his mouth, that smirking full lips with dimples that had no business of being so distracting. Heat pooled low in my belly My every cell screamed at me to close the distance and kiss him for no reason!
“You don’t smell like a rogue,” he murmured, tilting his head. Moonlight caught those sinful dimples that appeared with his smirk, “why are you here little wolf?”
Little wolf. The words sent an unexpected thrill down my spine.
Ara, he’s dangerous. I reminded myself.
I didn’t answer. Instead, my leg shot out, water spraying as I reached for the dagger strapped to my thigh. In one fluid motion, I had the blade at his throat
“One move,” I warned, pressing the silver–edged dagger against his skin, “and you’re done.”
He didn’t flinch. Didn’t even blink. Those stormy eyes just darkened with something that made my stomach
flip.
“Wolfsbane on silver,” he noted, tongue darting out to wet his lips. “Not bad.”
“Who are you?” I demanded, pressing harder. A bead of blood welled, stark red against his golden skin. “What do you want?
He should be in pain. It was poison to wolves. How was he still standing there without even flinching?
Instead of answering, his gaze dropped to where the water lapped at my chest. “You don’t have a wolf, do
you?”
The words hit like a physical blow. How did he!
-His hand moved faster than I could track. One second the dagger was at his throat, the next it was sinking
into the riverbed, and I was being yanked flush against him,
“This little toy can’t harm me. Maybe you can, he purred.
Every inch of me collided with hard, unyielding muscle. A gasp tore from my lips as electric sparks raced through my veins where our skin touched. His free hand splayed across the small of my back, pressing me even closer until I could feel the hammering of his heart against my chest. His embrace was surprisingly comforting and warm.
This isn’t right, Ara! I snapped at myself.
“Let go-
“Make me,” he challenged, his breath hot against my ear, as he licked the shell of my ear.

Fire exploded down my spine. My knees nearly buckled, saved only by his iron grip. Some rational part of my brain screamed that this was dangerous, that I should fight, flee, or do something.
The rest of me?
The rest of me wanted to lick his toned muscles, kiss his lips and… Oh goddess!
“You-“I barely recognized my own voice. Was it a protest or a moan, I couldn’t tell.
His chuckle vibrated through me. “all your bravery is gone, little wolf?”
That snapped me out of it.
With a gasp, I braced my hands on his shoulders, using his own strength against him. In one fluid motion, I vaulted out of the water, twisting his arm behind his back just long enough to break free.
“***k!” he growled as I sprinted for the shore,
I didn’t look back. Didn’t dare. My bare feet pounded the earth as I snatched my clothes and ran deeper into the woods. Toward the secondary entrance only the scouts used.
His laughter followed me, dark and promising.
“Run, little wolf!” he called. “I love to chase.”
The words sent another illicit thrill through me even as my mind screamed danger.
Because one thing was certain, he wasn’t just any wolf.
I had to warn the pack, the luna. And Kade! He would eat me alive for sneaking out this late! Goddess help
me!
Damon’s POV
The same scent hit me like a blade, lavender and honey, sweet and wild, curling through the damp forest air ‘Follow it.‘ Ryan’s voice rumbled through my bones, dark and demanding. My lycan never spoke unless it was
life or death.
“We’re here for rogues, not chasing random she–wolves, I growled back, even as my feet moved on their own, drawn toward that intoxicating fragrance like a starving man to a
feast.
‘Don’t lose her,‘ Ryan snarled, his presence surging beneath my skin. ‘You’ll regret it.
The deeper I tracked into the woods, the thicker the scent became. Moonlight spilled through the trees, painting silver streaks across the forest floor until…
There
A clearing. A pool of crystalline water.
And her.
She stood waist–deep in the water, her back to me, skin glistening under the moonlight like liquid pearl. Water cascaded down the delicate curve of her spine, over the sinful swell of her chest.
‘MATE
Danger & Desire
Ryan’s roar nearly split my skull in two
Every muscle in my body locked. My blood turned to fire. My c**k hardened so fast it ached.
Mine.
She turned–slowly, as if she knew I was there, and the world stopped.
Wide, mose green eyes met mine. Full lips parted in shock. Water sluiced down her bare shoulders, her collarbones, over the perfect peaks of her bosoms.
Goddess!
Ryan thrashed inside me, claws raking at my control. “Touch her. Mark her. Take her.”
I barely held him back. What was she doing here all alone! There was no pack nearby. She wasn’t a rogue
either.
She didn’t run. Didn’t scream. Just stared at me with those devastating eyes, her breath coming in quick, tempting little pants.
Ryan purred, “Perfect”
She teased me, she challenged me and then, she was gone!
Fast, Too fast for a wolfless maiden.
One second she was in my arms, the next….
Gonel Before I could tell her she was mine!
Ryan howled in outrage. After her!‘
I lunged, but she was already sprinting through the trees, her bare body a flash of moonlight and temptation. The sway of her hips, the bounce of her breast…..
1**k.
I was hard as steel, torn between chasing her down and admiring the view.
“YOU’RE f*****g LETTING HER GET AWAY! Fantasize later, you moron!‘ Ryan roared.
I cursed and chased, but it was too late.
She vanished.
Like mist. Like a dream.
I braced against a tree. Her scent clung to my skin, my hands, everywhere. I still could feel the faint sparks.
Ryan sulked. ‘You lost her, ***t. AGAIN.”
“We agreed, no mates,’ I gritted out, trying to ignore the way my heart pounded
That was before I knew she existed. I agreed because I thought a lazy butt like you would never find our mate,” Ryan growled, suddenly sounding like a lovesick pup. ‘Find her. She is all I want!”
I squeezed my eyes shut, but all I saw was her. The way her lips parted when she saw me. The way her thighs. tensed as she prepared to run. The way her body would feel under mine taking every inch of me.
“Fuck.” I adjusted myself, groaning. This was not the plan.
- Danger & Desire
‘Now it is‘, Ryan purred.
“We’re here for our mother, remember?”
‘Mate comes first.”
I growled, raking a hand through my hair. She was wolfless. Wolfless! She didn’t even feel the bond. And yet, she’d done what no warrior, no alpha, no king had ever managed…. she’d left me speechless, defenseless.
And now?
Now I couldn’t think of anything but finding her again
Touching her.
Claiming her.
‘Then stop wasting time,” Ryan growled
‘Fine!‘ A slow smirk curled my lips. Then be it, little mate! Run all you want. Because once I catch you, you
won’t be able to escape
