If Ariel were to go ahead and tell all those people that she was Jayson’s wife earlier, Nancy might end up getting criticized for dating a married man. Jayson might not let Ariel and her family off if that happened.
In the end, Ariel made her decision based on a fair sense of reason. She still had a chance to speak to Jayson anyway; they would both be here for a while for tonight’s event.
Once she was done arranging her thoughts, Ariel followed the crowd as they entered the venue.
Inside the hall set up for the product launch, Chad spotted Ariel right away and waved his hand at her.
When Ariel got there, Chad patted the seat next to him. “Sit here. Let’s have a look at whether the new material created by Vireon Technologies possesses any advanced, noteworthy features. They are a decent company worth looking into.”
Ariel nodded pensively. “So, Mr. Quinton owns Vireon Technologies?”
Zach was an only child. Instead of joining the political scene, he chose to venture into business.
Zach would often receive advice or guidance from his elders, who held high government positions and appeared frequently in their local news. He was indeed someone they could consider collaborating with.
“Let’s have a chat with him later?” Chad suddenly recalled how Zach seemed to have some sort of misunderstanding about Ariel back when they visited the aerospace research institute.
Zach thought that Ariel was rather unprofessional.
They just needed to be given a chance to talk to each other. With Ariel’s profound insight into their industry and her professional analysis of Vireon’s new material, Chad was certain they would be able to resolve the misunderstanding.
He believed Zach’s impression of Ariel would improve once Zach had spoken to her.
Ariel had no objections.
She did not mind the fact that Zach had scolded her for tinkering with the U.N2 previously. She happened to agree with his views and concerns. Anyhow, what happened back then was not that big of a deal to Ariel.
While they waited for an opportunity to meet and talk to Zach, Ariel’s gaze drifted across the hall. She quickly spotted Jayson and Nancy, who were talking to the top executives from different companies who had formed a circle around them.
Ariel glanced in Jayson’s direction several times as she tried to figure out how to discuss the matters relating to their divorce with him.
When Zach came down from the second floor and looked slightly to the side, he could pretty much see the entire hall. With Ariel and Chad sitting in the first row, Zach caught sight of it right away…
Ariel kept stealing glances at Jayson!
A look of bewilderment and exasperation flashed in his eyes. He had completely underestimated Ariel, who only seemed to get stronger and more persistent after each defeat.
Some of Vireon’s top executives following behind Zach noticed he had suddenly halted. They followed his gaze

and quickly realized who he was looking at.
“Mr. Quinton, do you know Ms. Walker too?”
Zach turned his eyes to them. “Do you guys know her too?”
Vireon Technologies had not had any chance to collaborate with Faye Tech on any projects. There was no way his company’s employees would know Ariel when she was just Chad’s assistant.
After seeing the puzzled look on Zach’s face, one of the executives answered, “We just got to know her. We ran into Ms. Walker outside our building not too long ago. She’s quite interesting.”
“What do you mean?” Zach snickered. He could sense that there was something more to his words.
The same man replied, “We met her when we went out to greet and welcome Mr. Larkin and Ms. Stanton. Ms. Walker came up to Mr. Larkin and asked to speak to him in private rather abruptly. We’re not even sure if they’re acquainted or not.
“Ms. Stanton was alright if those two needed to talk, but Mr. Larkin did not want to. He did not even bother if it would make Ms. Walker lose face as he led Ms. Stanton away. Even I could sense how awkward and embarrassed Ms. Walker must have felt.”
Zach had no idea something like that had happened. A frown drew his brows together.
Zach directed his gaze at Ariel, who was sitting quietly in her chair.
It appeared Ariel was not just stealing glances at Jayson. She was openly trying to covet him. She even asked to speak to Jayson privately when Nancy, his girlfriend, was right beside him. Ariel was acting out of line!
Zach thought that Jayson did brilliantly by rejecting Ariel’s request. Someone like her clearly did not know when to give up. The situation would only worsen if Jayson had even allowed her the slightest bit of hope.
