Ariel and Chad arrived at Faye Tech’s building.
It was not like they had gained nothing from attending Vireon’s product launch. Ariel had written down details worth noting.
After getting back to the office, she, Chad, and the members of the technology department discussed and did an in -depth analysis of the information she had gathered.
Zach might appear a bit arrogant. However, there was no denying that Vireon was at the top of their game. For the past two years, they had been one of the leading companies in the country that had created many new, innovative technologies.
Their meeting went on for almost two hours.
In the afternoon, Ariel received a WhatsApp message from Ewan. He informed her that they had some good news regarding securing a suitable liver donor for Leonard.
They would be able to get confirmation by the end of this month. If they could get that expert, who was currently abroad, to agree to perform the surgery, they would also be able to increase the surgery’s success rate.
This was one of the most wonderful news Ariel had received in a long time. She felt slightly relieved.
She needed to make arrangements for Leonard to undergo the surgery. There was a high chance for Leonard to live a normal life again if he experienced little to no transplant rejection after the surgery.
Ariel sent Ewan a reply to express her gratitude.
When it was almost evening, Janice came to the office. She brought Ariel another piece of good news.
“The expert that you’re looking for may have kept his schedule and whereabouts a secret, but thankfully, I’ve made great connections. I’ve found some information regarding his recent arrangements.”
Ariel was pleasantly surprised. “What do you mean?”
Janice looked smug as she raised her brows. She hummed briefly before saying, “I’ve tried asking some of my friends who live abroad and found out that people call him Fergus.
“He’s already returned to the country. He’s been keeping a low profile and hasn’t made any public appearances. I didn’t manage to obtain his contact details or find anyone who could introduce us to him. However, rumor has it that he’ll be attending a charity auction this Friday.”
“A charity auction?” Ariel repeated inwardly.
She thought about it for a bit. “We’ll attend the charity auction and see if we can find him there.”
Janice replied a little hesitantly, “I checked and found out who the organizer of the charity auction was. It’s the Johnstone family. Lucas might be there at the auction.”
Janice was aware of what happened between Ariel and Lucas. She reckoned Ariel might feel uncomfortable seeing

However, Ariel was not particularly bothered by it. “It’s fine. I won’t let the past affect me. I’m just going there to meet the expert. Nothing else mattered more than that.”
Janice felt more reassured hearing that. She immediately offered to take Ariel there. “Just wait for my message. I’ll attend the auction with you this Friday.”
The charity auction would start at 7:00 pm. Janice drove her car and picked Ariel up at her place.
Ariel wore a fitted white satin dress, and she had a white fur shawl draped around her shoulders. She looked cool and elegant wearing light make–up.
While she was mesmerized by how stunning Ariel looked, Janice asked, “How come I’m getting the smell of medicine from you?”
Ariel was rather surprised. She did not think Janice would be able to detect it.
The smell of disinfectant from the hospital still lingered on her body after she went there for radiation therapy this morning. The medicine she took did not give off much smell, and Ariel had even sprayed perfume on her body.
“I’ve been taking some herbal medicine lately to boost my energy.” Ariel made up an excuse.
Janice was not one to overthink these things. She nodded without probing any further.
After arriving at the venue and getting the numbered paddles, Janice said, “That expert, Fergus, is actively involved in providing medical humanitarian aid overseas. Also, he’s attending tonight’s auction. I think he’s probably a really nice person.”
Ariel was also hoping for that. If the man were kind and soft–hearted, she would have a higher chance of persuading Fergus to perform Leonard’s surgery.
After entering the venue, Ariel only realized how grand and fancy tonight’s auction was. She even spotted several movie stars among the guests.
Since Ariel could not drink, Janice got her a glass of juice.
When they were heading toward their seats, a group of people came walking toward them from a certain direction. Matt and Frederick were standing in front of the group.
