Chapter 267
When Aria sensed someone was looking at her, she tried to see who it was.
She was caught slightly off guard when she met Jayson’s gaze.
However, Jayson averted his gaze expressionlessly a few seconds after Ariel looked in his direction. There was a look of indifference on his face.
It was not so surprising for them to run into Jayson and Nancy here since they were near the World Trade Center.
Nancy placed her hands on Jayson’s arm, the one that was not wounded. The two of them seemed to have enjoyed a fun conversation earlier. They appeared really close and chummy.
It had not even been four hours since they received their divorce certificate, yet Jayson and Nancy seemed to have grown much closer.
Ariel acted as if she didn’t know those two people. She pulled her wrist free from Liam’s grip and turned around to thank him. “That won’t be necessary. I’ve already been to the hospital.”
Liam frowned slightly. He kept getting the feeling that Ariel’s condition seemed rather unusual. It did not seem like she was simply feeling a bit under the weather.
Nancy spotted Liam and Ariel as well.
She had no interest in what Ariel was doing. However…
With a frown on her forehead, Nancy glanced at Liam, who stood beside Ariel. She couldn’t understand why Liam was meeting someone like Ariel.
Nancy wondered whether the two of them had agreed to meet here or had simply met by chance.
As far as she was aware, Ariel and Liam were not acquainted. They hardly even knew about each other’s existence. Yet, the two of them seemed relatively close when Liam tried to support Ariel earlier.
A deep frown drew Nancy’s brows together.
Ariel appeared to be a lot more open–minded than she had imagined.
“Could it be that having Chad Hockney as her backing was still not enough for her?” Nancy wondered.
Nancy’s expression turned cold as she considered the possibility. She had a faintly mocking look on her face.
She tried not to let her real emotions show as she said pensively, “When did those two become so close that they even went and grabbed coffee together? Perhaps they happened to run into each other at the coffee shop.”
Jayson continued on his way while he glanced at his watch. His face showed no emotion. “It doesn’t really matter.”
Nancy raised her head and gazed at Jayson’s side profile. She couldn’t stop herself from grinning.
She could tell that Jayson had made an effort to respond to her even though he was not interested in the certain someone that she had mentioned in the slightest. Jayson was being attentive to her.
If he were with someone else, would Jayson have bothered being so attentive to that person?
The two of them entered one of the shops nearby. Neither of them saw the moment a car pulled up in front of the coffee shop, and Perry got out of the car to open the door for Ariel.
On the other hand, Jayson received a call from Matt just as he stepped into the shop.

Jayson answered the phone.
It sounded like Matt was meeting some clients. He had some free time and decided to call Jayson. “Have you completed the registration procedures for Veyo Solutions?
Jayson watched as Nancy went ahead and greeted some people. He replied unhurriedly, “Yes, we’ve settled pretty much everything.”
Matt mused, “We’re talking about a relatively large–scale business here. Moreover, you’ve been paying a lot of attention to this matter. Despite your injuries, you left the hospital this morning and have been helping Nancy with handling those procedures. You could have just asked Colton to take care of those things.”
It was evident how thoughtful and meticulous Jayson was when it came to matters related to Nancy.
Jayson looked down at his right hand, which had been bandaged and fixed securely. He didn’t mention how he had also visited the courthouse during the day.
Jayson said flatly, “Colton has some other errands to take care of for the next couple of days.”
Matt didn’t dwell on the matter since he thought Jayson had meant that Colton was preoccupied with work lately.
However, he was someone whose thought process was quite erratic. Matt recalled something at that moment and asked, “The cooling–off period is over by now, right? Have you gotten your divorce certificate?”
Jayson lifted his gaze and spotted Nancy coming his way. Instead of replying to Matt’s question, he said, “Nancy and I have just settled some stuff related to the business operations. Let’s meet up when we’re free.”
