Chapter 276
Nancy froze for a moment. Then, she said in a regretful tone, “Jayson got injured because of me.”
Lucas was rather surprised. “Mr. Larkin saved you from harm’s way?”
Nancy merely smiled faintly without saying anything else.
Meanwhile, Jayson raised his glass and made a toast. “Mr. Sanderson, I haven’t had the chance to congratulate you on finding such a lovely partner.”
Lucas curled his lips and chuckled. “Thank you. Same goes to you, Mr. Larkin.”
He raised his brows and glanced at Nancy.
Jayson’s mouth turned up in a nonchalant smile. He made no further comments.
As he looked up, Jayson spotted Ariel and Samson from among the crowd on the dance floor. They happened to have finished dancing by then.
Samson, who was a complete gentleman, escorted Ariel back to her seat.
Ariel hadn’t practised this type of dance in years. Coupled with her physical condition, she was starting to feel a little tired.
After a moment’s consideration, Samson decided to introduce himself properly. “I’m Samson Pryce. It’s been a pleasure to meet you.”
Ariel studied his face for a moment. She could tell Samson was quite young. He was probably around 22 or 23.
She gave a slight nod. “Hello, I’m Ariel Walker.”
Samson knew that Ariel might find it a bit awkward if he were to try and chat with her a little longer when they had just met. He decided to keep his introduction short.
He greeted both Chad and Janice politely before turning around and walking away.
As soon as he left, Janice leaned closer toward Ariel. “I give him a ten out of ten.”
With his brows arched, Chad grinned. He made a few remarks in a serious tone, “He looks like a decent man. Appearance wise, he passed all the minimum requirements Ladies prefer dating younger men these days, right?”
He continued, “He’s young, handsome, and energetic.”
Janice added, “You should totally try dating him!”
Ariel was struck speechless.
Samson was clearly still in his early 20s. He was most likely one to two years younger than Ariel.
Moreover, Samson had escorted Ariel back to her seat. That was clearly not just him simply being gentlemanly.
Ariel reckoned Chad and Janice were just joking. She was about to make a retort when she sensed someone was looking at her.
Ariel stiffened slightly and looked to the side. She met Jayson’s gaze. His eyes were unreadable.
Jayson probably saw the moment when Samson escorted her back to her seat just now. He smiled enigmatically at Ariel when he noticed she was looking in his direction.

Then, he leaned closer toward Nancy and continued talking to her.

Ariel furrowed her brows. She couldn’t understand what Jayson had meant with the look on his face earlier. Anyway, it shouldn’t concern her.
Ariel had a sip of water and turned her gaze toward the pair who were still gushing about Samson. “Aren’t you guys going to dance?”
Instead of trying to refute their words, Ariel brought up the question. It distracted those two, who were getting increasingly excited about Samson.
Today’s engagement party had more of a fun, relaxed vibe. Since they were already there, they might as well join in and have some fun.
Chad had always been quite popular. In just a short while, he had several ladies asking him for a dance. Soon enough, he headed toward the dance floor.
Meanwhile, Samson made his way to the refreshments area. He had just picked up a drink when Zach walked up to him. The two men were clearly acquainted.”
“When did you arrive back in the country?”
Samson’s brows lifted. He didn’t elaborate much. “Around a few days ago.”
Zach had an inkling. Since the Pryce family wasn’t just any wealthy, prominent family, Samson’s elders had probably sent him as their family’s representative to attend Wendy’s engagement party.
The problem was…
Zach recalled how Samson had invited Ariel for a dance earlier. His brows furrowed. “Do you know that lady you were dancing with?”
Samson replied nonchalantly, “Nope. I just met her.”
“Are you interested in her?” Zach found the notion absurd and ridiculous. He had to fight back his urge to laugh.
Samson traced his finger along the outer surface of his glass. His eyes crinkled as he beamed. “I can’t say that I’m interested.”
It was because… Samson had fallen for Ariel at first sight.
