Even Nancy had tumed her gaze toward him.
She subconsciously took a glance at Jayson. Yet, Nancy noticed Jayson looked completely unbothered and unperturbed. “You can try asking Ms. Walker yourself, Mr. Quinton.”
Zach raised his glass and chuckled. “You must be kidding, Mr. Larkin. She and I aren’t even acquainted.”
Jayson said nothing else as he slowly clinked his glass with Zach’s. He seemed absolutely uninterested in Ariel’s matters or any topics related to her.
Nancy raised her brows. She grinned, thinking how it was just as she had expected.
On the other hand, Lucas just found out that Ariel had left. He paused momentarily before taking a cigarette out of the box. “Alright.”
As he stared into the horizon and pulled on his cigarette, Lucas dropped around five to six cigarette butts on the floor near his feet after some time.
Ariel was showing a lot of grit and resolve these days.
She hadn’t spoken a word to Lucas for the entire night. Ariel didn’t express her displeasure or disapproval with the fact that he was getting engaged. She didn’t even try to cause a ruckus.
Lucas wasn’t sure how much time had passed when someone came over and told him Wendy was looking for him.
Lucas stepped on the last cigarette he was smoking to put out the flame. With a frigid look on his face, he returned to the deck.
When Samson came back upstairs to the deck, Ariel was nowhere to be seen. He found out she had already left after asking a waiter about it.
Samson clutched his phone and leaned against the railing. He didn’t manage to get Ariel’s contact details, and he lost the opportunity to get to know her better.
Still, Samson believed he would get another chance to meet her if he willed it.
He spotted Chad, who was chatting with other guests in the distance. Samson was struck with an idea. He went up to Chad and greeted him.
Chad and Samson hadn’t met each other before. However, Chad’s first impression of Samson was quite favorable after he had seen how kind and friendly Samson was to Ariel earlier.

Nancy flinched when she heard how Sainson had made use of the opportunity to get the contact details of everyone here. With a pensive look in her eyes, her gaze fell on Samson’s face.
She had an inkling of what Samson was actually trying to achieve through these actions. She pulled out her phone, no longer surprised. “Of course.”
After getting on a small yacht, Ariel was later dropped off at the nearest port. There were cars and drivers ready there to take her back to the city center.
The next day, Ariel came across Janice, who was suffering from a hangover, when she went into the office.
Janice said she had another round of drinks with the others just before the party ended. She managed to get acquainted with some people who were also working in the same industry as them. Janice felt that she had gained a lot from last night.
Seeing how Janice had a grimace on her face, Ariel decided to make her some honey water.
Chad stepped out of his office. “I stayed on the cruise ship last night. Luckily, you decided to leave earlier. I could feel how my insides were swaying even in my sleep.”
Ariel grinned and pointed at the honey water. “Do you want some too?”
Chad went up to her and asked for a glass of honey water as well.
He tossed his phone to Janice. “I feel dizzy even when I’m just looking at my phone screen. You should contact Mr. White and tell him we’ll be coming over this afternoon to check a few things.”
Janice grumbled as she straightened herself and sent the message on WhatsApp.
Soon enough, she was done informing Alan of their plan. Janice thought she was using her own phone and opened the Instagram app.
After scrolling down for a while, she frowned and sat up straight. “Nancy and Jayson stayed in the same room last night on the cruise ship?”
Ariel lifted her gaze.
Janice showed her what was on the screen. “Nancy shared a post.”
She had taken a photo of the view outside the window of a suite. Jayson could be seen sitting on a couch behind her in the window’s reflection.
“To enjoy a few drinks in the middle of the night with someone who offers you a sense of security. I suppose this is bliss.”

Ariel got up and said matter–of–factly, “A rich, prominent family like the Larkins cared about continuing their lineage. If Nancy really got pregnant, they might consider accepting her as part of the family.”
Moreover, there was also the fact that Ariel hadn’t conceived a child during the past three years. So, anything was possible.
Besides, Jayson would do everything he could to remove any obstacles for Nancy.
Janice was at a loss for what to say.
Chad flicked Janice on her forehead. “Sometimes, the person who hasn’t been chosen is the luckier person. With infidelity, the cheater normally doesn’t stop at doing it just once. A lot of times, that person will end up with someone who’s able to tame and control them.”
Janice put her hand over her forehead. She couldn’t help agreeing with Chad’s opinion.
On the other hand, despite being involved, Ariel wasn’t curious about Jayson and Nancy’s plans. She swiftly concentrated on her work while ignoring all other thoughts.
They were currently working on planning their new project. Ariel had been put fully in charge of doing it again this time.
Ariel had an appointment with Carlos on Tuesday evening. They had decided to meet and grab a meal together at a
restaurant.
Ariel had no idea who wanted to meet her. However, that person probably had an unusual background to have asked Carlos for this favor.
She departed for the restaurant before 7:00 pm. It was a rather modest, inconspicuous establishment.
When she entered the private room and saw the person beside Carlos, Ariel was momentarily stunned.
