Chapter 347
Ariel furrowed her brows as she stared at the number displayed on the screen.
There was no point in her changing her phone number or blocking Colton’s number. Whenever Jayson needed to speak to her about something, he would find a way to reach her.
The phone rang for quite a while before Ariel took the call. What is it?”
Colton responded calmly as if he had not noticed Ariel’s cold, indifferent tone.
“Would you be free tonight, Mrs. Larkin? Mr. Larkin instructed me to inform you that we needed to submit another copy of the equity transfer contract to the relevant department doing the assessments. We’ll need your signature on it. Could you drop by tonight to do that?“.
Ariel was looking at the data from Faye Technologies‘ recent drone trials. She replied, “You can have the contract mailed to me via courier. I’ll sign it and have it delivered back to you.”
Colton said, “Mr. Larkin said that this is an important matter. If you’re not free, he can meet and ask your grandmother, who’s the nominee equity holder, to sign it instead.”
Ariel paused momentarily.
A cold light gleamed in her eyes. “Please tell him there’s no need to disturb my grandmother. I’ll drop by the
office before noon.”
Colton answered, “Understood. I’ll pass on the message to him.”
Ariel hung up.
She wouldn’t allow Jayson the chance to disturb or harass her family members. Now that they were divorced, Ariel hoped Jayson would stay out of Katie’s and Leonard’s sight for good.
Regarding the 20% equity, the approval process would likely be quite complicated and time–consuming, as Nexura Solutions was considered a large–scale business. Ariel would be required to complete certain procedures during this process.
After she completed the tasks at hand, Ariel headed over to Bluum Corp.
The receptionist had probably received the relevant instructions beforehand. Ariel was allowed to head upstairs right away by using the elevator.
Soon enough, she arrived at the conference room near the CEO’s office.
Jayson was already waiting inside. He lifted his gaze when he noticed Ariel was there. “Have a seat.”
He looked down again at the document in his hands. Simultaneously, he instructed Colton in a monotonous voice via the intercom. “Prepare a cup of tea.”
Ariel did not sit down beside Jayson. Instead, she sat in the seat opposite him. “I don’t need any drinks. Just pass me the contract.”
Jayson could see that she wanted to get this over with quickly. He closed the folder containing the contract, put it on the table, and slid it toward Ariel. “Some departments require a copy of this document. Once it’s been submitted, it’ll take at most two weeks for it to be approved”
Ariel scanned the document and confirmed it was a copy of the equity transfer contract. Since there was no problem with the document, Ariel signed her name on it.

She put the pen cap back on and stood up.
“Do you want to grab lunch together?” Jayson glanced at his watch and looked at Ariel.
Ariel cast him a sideways glance. “If you’re thinking of helping Veyo Solutions secure the patent license for our new flight control system, don’t bother trying.”
Ariel did not even try to beat around the bush as she made her stance clear before Jayson could even ask.
He suddenly invited her to lunch right after Nancy had failed to meet Chad at their office today. Ariel did not think the two of them were friendly enough to grab a meal together.
Jayson stared at her for a moment. He could sense Ariel’s wariness.
He slowly curled his lips. “I won’t try to meddle with Faye Tech’s decision regarding the matter, nor am I going to help the Veyo Solutions team persuade you guys to sell them your patented technology. You don’t have to worry about it.”
“It’s not like you’ve done anything to be able to ask that favor from me anyway, Mr. Larkin.” Ariel reminded him.
She was being quite blunt by saying that. This time, Jayson fixed his gaze on her for a bit longer. However, he did not really mind her giving that response..
He said straightforwardly this time, “Faye Tech is performing extremely well these days. It seems like you have some exceptional experts working secretly for you guys.”
Jayson did not wait for Ariel’s reply as he smiled slightly. “I wasn’t thinking of persuading you to agree to selling the patent license to Veyo Solutions. Instead, I was hoping to discuss with you the possibility of Nexura Solutions securing the patent license for the new flight control system. You can take your time and consider it.”
Ariel was not exactly surprised to hear Jayson suggesting this.
Nexura Solutions, which Jayson owned, was considered one of the top–tier companies in their industry. With what was happening in the industry at the moment, they would naturally want to secure the patent license too.
Ariel was an equity holder of Nexura Solutions. In other words, while they could make a fortune by charging Jayson for the patent license, Ariel would also receive more dividends from Nexura Solutions.
Still, Ariel took her bag and headed for the door. She gave one last remark. “Please make an appointment with our team like everyone else if you’d like to discuss the patent license, Mr. Larkin.”
Ariel had no plans to make things easier for Jayson, especially when they weren’t even having an official meeting for work.
Moreover, they no longer had any relations that would warrant granting special favors to the other person.
If her guess was right, Jayson had asked to see her today because of Faye Technologies‘ new flight control system. However, Jayson must be feeling quite certain that things would work out for him to have gotten Ariel to stop by Bluum Corp.
Ariel had not planned on not selling the patent license to Nexura Solutions.
Firstly, she would benefit from this arrangement as well. Secondly, Nexura Solutions had been collaborating with government agencies for quite a long time. They were deemed a reliable, trustworthy partner by the government.
Still, many people had been visiting their office recently to discuss purchasing the patent license. Judging by the look of things, it would take quite a while before it was Jayson’s turn to meet and talk to their team.
Jayson would have no choice but to wait patiently. Ariel was not going to help by allowing him the chance to cut in
