Chapter 348
Colton had just entered the conference room with a cup of tea in his hand when he noticed Ariel coming his way. She simply ignored Colton and walked past him as she left the room without sparing him or Jayson another glance.
Colton was left slightly bewildered. He glanced at Jayson and turned his eyes to the cup of tea he was holding. “Mr. Larkin, the tea…”
Jayson remained seated on the couch. He rubbed his thumb against one of the joints of his index finger and said monotonously, “You can just pour it away.”
Faye Technologies eventually selected several companies to which it would sell the patent license. They were charging these companies quite a high fee for the license. Additionally, the companies were required to pay the fees annually.
Ariel received a call from Carlos the next day.
“I’ve taken a look at the new flight control system. Hmm, you’ve done a pretty decent job. However, you still need to work hard on improving yourself.
“You mustn’t feel overly pleased or satisfied with your current achievements. Technological advancement happens rapidly these days. You must constantly push yourself to grow and improve.”
Ariel subconsciously straightened herself slightly. Ever since she became Carlos‘ postgraduate student, Ariel could sense that Carlos had begun monitoring her progress as her supervisor.
“Yes, I understand.”
Carlos asked, “Are you free tomorrow? Come and have dinner at my place. We’ll talk more about the details then.”
Ariel responded meekly, “Sure.”
The next day, Chad drove Ariel to his place.
When Ariel and Chad entered the house, they quickly noticed that Carlos was not the only one there.
Gary and Zach were visiting the Hockney residence as well.
Ariel’s expression remained unchanged. She greeted Carlos right away. Then, Ariel greeted Gary. “Hello.”
Zach’s gaze fell on Ariel’s face. He saw Ariel walking past him without sparing him a single glance. She treated
Zach as if he weren’t there.
Ariel was blatantly ignoring him.
Zach furrowed his brows. Even with Gary around, Ariel didn’t bother to act friendly with him.
Carlos waved his hand at Ariel. “The food’s ready. Come and have a seat.”
Chad sent Ariel a meaningful glance since he found the current situation amusing. Ariel had an inkling of what this was about. However, she didn’t let her emotions show.
After he sat down, Chad grinned broadly and greeted Zach. “Mr. Zach, you’re here as well.”
It sounded to Zach that Chad was teasing him by saying that. Chad obviously knew why he had come to the
Hockney residence today.
Carlos poured himself some liquor and had a sip. “You can tell them about the request from the Department of

Gary nodded and turned the eyes to Artel. “Ariel, the government has taken notice of the highly advanced flight control system Fae Tech se dovrdoped and introduced
“We’ll be needing the patented technology from Faye Teul for some of the drones used by the Department of Defense I’ve come here today to talk to you abohat it
Ariel gave a slight nod and answered swiftly, “Sure. Faye Tech will do its best to cooperate with the Department of Defense on that ”
Since they had settled on the important matters, Gary hesitated for a moment before asking, “The flight control system has a wide application. A lot of companies would need to rely on this new system to remain competitive in the market. Can I know why your team has refused to sell the patent license to Vireon Tech?”
Gary was not planning on pressuring Ariel of Chad to sell them the patent license.
If Faye Technologies had its own considerations, Gary would gladly accept it and tell Zach to figure out a way himself.
If this was about the conflict Zach had mentioned previously, Gary wanted to try and resolve the issue today.
Chad kept silent and directed his gaze to Ariel.
Ariel knew that Gary was a rather down–to–earth person, despite holding a high position in the Department of Defense. He was being very sincere by coming here to meet Ariel personally.
Still, Ariel said in a steady tone, “It seems like Mr. Zach hasn’t told you about it?”
Gary frowned. He looked confused. “I’d be grateful if you could fill me in about it.”
Zach’s face turned a bit pale. It was at this moment that he realized how he was being humiliated by Ariel.
He had looked down on this woman all this while. Yet, Zach had to rack his brain now to beg Ariel for the favor.
He would be giving Faye Technologies a lot of money by purchasing the patent license. Yet, the decision still remained with Faye Technologies whether they wanted to take Zach’s money or not.
This situation filled Zach with deep, bitter frustration.
Chad was the actual owner of Faye Technologies. Yet, he seemed to dote on Ariel so much that he had given her the authority to make these important decisions.
Ariel still wasn’t looking at Zach. She explained slowly, “We could consider selling the patent license to Mr. Zach, of course. You don’t have to feel bad for asking, Mr. Gary. However, before that…”
She glanced at Zach, who was visibly displeased at that point.
Ariel said in a firm voice, “Mr. Zach has to offer a proper apology to me first.”
