Ariel shook her head. “He already knows the answer, so he won’t.”
Chad agreed. “You have a point. Well, he’d be a real scumbi if he tried to make an unreasonable demand of you for Nancy.”
Ariel couldn’t care less about what the Veyo Solutions tear would do in their current situation.
Leonard would be having the operation the next day. She was not in the mood to think about other matters.
It took quite some time for them to schedule a date and time for Leonard’s operation.
They now had Liam sharing his professional opinion regarding Leonard’s treatment. After confirming that Leonard’s vitals were in the suitable range, they quickly decided on the time to perform the operation.
Ariel had applied for a day off.
Chad couldn’t make it to the hospital with Ariel. He wanted to have Janice keep Ariel company at the hospital instead. However, Ariel turned down his suggestion since she didn’t want to trouble them and have them wait around with her.
Besides, things had been quite hectic at Faye Technologies ever since they introduced the new flight control system. They couldn’t possibly let one person shoulder three people’s worth of workload for that long.
The night before, Katie wasn’t able to get much sleep. Ariel knew Katie probably could not help it since she was worried. So, she simply stayed by her side quietly.
The operation would begin at 11:00 am.
Isaac explained to Ariel about some details of the procedure and roughly how long the operation would take.
Organ transplant operations involved more complicated procedures. So, it would probably take around eight to ten hours for them to complete the operation.
Inwardly, Ariel was feeling quite anxious. However, she tried her best to appear calm as she signed several consent forms for the operation, since Katie was with her.
It only struck Ariel at that moment. Who should she ask to help sign these consent forms when she had to undergo her operation?
It would take a long while before the operation was over.
Katie looked pale and exhausted, having slept little the night before.
Ariel was worried about her. “Grandma, you should rest in Uncle Leo’s ward for a while. It’ll take a long time until the operation is done. I’ll wait here. You can come over later when it’s almost time.”
Katie did not stubbornly insist on staying there. She didn’t want to risk falling sick and making Ariel worry about
her as well.
“Alright. I’ll come by later.” Katie could sense some symptoms of her blood pressure rising. It was time she took her medication.
After Katie left, Ariel turned her eyes to the operating room again.
She felt a heavy weight over her heart. Her heartbeat sounded exceptionally slow and sluggish that day.

She could feel a chill run down het spine. Ariel was filled with an overwhelming sense of anxiety and insecurity that it fell like she would fall into a bottomless pit at any moment.
“Don’t worry.”
Not long after Katie left, someone with a tall form came up to Ariel. That person gave off the faint smell of disinfectant.
Ariel lifted her head and saw Liam, who was looking at her He gave her a bottle of fruit milk that could help replenish Ariel’s blood sugar.
“I can’t give you a hundred percent guarantee that the operation is a sure success. However, Isaac is widely acknowledged for his surgical skills. The operation will take quite a while. If you don’t have an appetite, you should drink this to replenish your blood sugar.”
Ariel hesitated for a moment. Eventually, she accepted the bottle of milk. “Thank you.”
Liam checked the time. “You’re welcome. I’ll drop by again once the operation is over.”
Liam could only stop by briefly to check how things were going since he still had work.
Since he had promised Ariel he would help, Liam would make time to check and watch over Leonard after this. He would make sure to fulfill his responsibilities since he had given his word.
Moreover, Ariel had saved him previously. Liam wouldn’t be able to repay Ariel for what she did for him simply by doing her these favors now.
Ariel nodded and thanked him again. Liam noticed the glazed look in her eyes. After pausing for a few seconds, he turned around and walked away.
Ariel glanced at her watch and noticed it was only 2:00 pm.
She massaged the center of her brows. Every minute felt like an hour to her now.
She closed her eyes to try and relieve the soreness in her eyes.
Just then, Ariel picked up on the sound of footsteps yet again. Someone stopped before her. Then, she could sense the person sitting down beside her.
She caught a whiff of the faint scent of men’s perfume the next instant.
Ariel stiffened. She opened her eyes and turned her head.
Jayson was sitting beside her. When he noticed she was looking at him, Jayson turned his face and met Ariel’s gaze. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
