Ariel was sure there had to be a record somewhere. She just had to look.

Carlos was surprised when he heard the whole plagiarism allegation, but he didn’t take it too seriously. He believed it could be handled.
Ariel wasn’t someone a crisis like this could bring down.
Sidence study. They searched through two laptops, digging
She and Chad spent most of the day in the Hockney residence study. The
into the storage folders and database files.
Janice called a few times during that stretch.
Some companies had already begun switching sides. They wanted to terminate contracts with Faye Technologies and partner with Veyo Solutions instead.
They claimed it was because Faye Technologies was at fault
Ariel didn’t even blink. “Fine. Terminate. But blacklist them from our future collaboration list.”
Chad agreed. That was how most businesses were–self–serving to the core. But choosing sides too early could be suicide in disguise.
By the next morning, Chad suddenly stood up. “Found it!”
Ariel, dizzy with fatigue, waved for him to push the laptop over. She looked at the screen.
There it was. In a folder created five years ago was her draft which was more refined and far more advanced.
Ariel said calmly, “Looks like it’s our turn to strike back.”
News of Faye Technologies‘ terminated contracts reached Nancy too. She paid it no mind and continued flipping through the data files.
It had been three days, and Faye Technologies still hadn’t released any formal statement to defend itself.
Nancy was certain that they were not going to come out of this clean.
“Ms. Stanton, Mr. Larkin and Mr. Crosby have arrived,” Robin reported as he stepped in.
Only then did Nancy smile and stand up. As Jayson entered, she walked over. “Matt asked us out for lunch, but I got caught up in some of the management issues. Hope you don’t mind me asking for help again.”
She was often swamped with work and had plenty of questions that needed Jayson’s help. Yet he never showed the slightest impatience. He was always supportive and attentive.
It was no wonder Betty had come looking for her. She had seen how much Jayson truly cared about Nancy.
Jayson glanced at her. “It’s fine. You’re still in the early stages. Everything takes time to learn.”
Nancy handed him her laptop.
Behind them, Matt clicked his tongue. “The moment Jayson walks in, you don’t see anyone else, huh? I’ve been standing here forever.”

Nancy gave him an amused look. “What can I say? He’s special.”
Matt drew in a sharp breath. “Great. I guess I shouldn’t be Here.”
Jayson kept his head down, paying no attention to their exchange.
Nancy sat down beside him. After some thought, she said, ayson, the Faye Tech situation was unexpected. I don’t want to make enemies with Mr. Hockney, but Terrance is determined to pursue it, and I have to protect my employees.
“Technically, we could go after Faye Tech’s core team. But I’m hoping to cut Mr. Hockney some slack.”
Jayson understood exactly what she meant. “Okay, you contact him.”
Nancy didn’t hesitate. She called Chad right away.
When he picked up, she spoke with ease, “Mr. Hockney, I know this has been a rough few days, for Faye Tech. I can imagine how much time and effort your team must’ve poured into the flight control system.
“I’ve talked to Terrance, and we’re willing to make some concessions. We can narrow down the investigation to one individual. If you can offer up a scapegoat, the rest of the company can walk away untouched. It’s worth considering, don’t you think?”
Chad let out a mocking chuckle. “At Faye Tech, we take responsibility the right way. Keep that offer for your own team, Ms. Stanton.”
Nancy blinked in surprise.
But the line had already gone dead. Chad hung up right after saying that.
When Jayson looked over, he didn’t seem surprised.
Matt, however, was stunned. “They’re still holding their ground? Even now?”
This scandal had been blowing up for the past two days.
Was Faye Technologies still trying to go down the “we rise and fall together” route? Were they out of their minds?
“Faye Tech must have a plan.” Jayson glanced at his watch before turning to Nancy. “Are you sure Terrance’s material is legit?”
Nancy nodded.
Terrance’s technical proposal and code did show significant overlap with Faye Technologies‘. And all of it predates their development timeline.
That was already enough to make the case airtight.
Suddenly, the door swung open. Robin stepped in, looking unsettled. “Ms. Stanton, Faye Tech just released a statement.”
Jayson looked up at him.
Nancy didn’t flinch. “Alright, I’ll check it out.”
Matt was curious enough to check it out himself, so he pulled out his phone. But the moment he opened the article, he frowned and looked up in shock. “Faye Tech is saying… the entire flight control system was independently developed by Ariel?”
