If this scandal didn’t get handled properly, Ariel wouldn’t be able to bear the consequences.
She finally looked up at Lucas, but her gaze was cold. “Do you think Faye Tech did it, or do you think I did it?”
Frowning, Lucas stepped in closer and reached out to grabber shoulders with quiet intensity. “Does it matter? I don’t care what the truth is. Just cut ties with Faye Tech now. You can have any position you want at Jadeon Tech.”
Ariel stepped back, her body language making it clear she wasn’t interested in his so–called protection.
After over a decade as siblings, Lucas still knew nothing about her at all.
She didn’t bother wasting her breath. She just brushed past him and walked off.
Lucas didn’t get why Ariel was being so stubborn. His face clouded over as he turned to watch her walk away.
That stubbornness of hers hadn’t changed since they were kids. Once she made up her mind, she would rather bleed than back down.
He had wanted her to get a reality check, but this wasn’t the time.
He pressed his lips into a hard line. Finally, he pulled out his phone and found Jayson’s number.
He stared at it for a second before hitting the call button.
Nancy had just been notified that the lawsuit notice had been delivered to Ariel.
She couldn’t help but find the whole thing ridiculous. Faye Technologies was a massive company, yet they pushed/ Ariel out as the scapegoat.
Nancy hadn’t planned on causing trouble for Ariel, but she basically handed herself over.
And Terrence was demanding results.
Since Faye Technologies had singled Ariel out, it wasn’t a conflict between two companies anymore. It was a personal battle between Veyo Solutions and Ariel.
Nancy was more than happy with that. After all, she had no intention of going head–to–head with Chad,
If she could turn this into a favor, all the better.
“Do you have all the evidence ready?” Sarah asked from her hospital bed, looking oddly cheerful.
She had beaten Elena once before. Now, Nancy was about to crush Ariel. Watching others fall was a feeling she clearly enjoyed.
Nancy kept her eyes on the data on her screen. She never slacked when it came to work. Without even looking up, she replied, “Yeah, everything’s in order.”
“So Ariel’s basically done in the industry, huh?” Sarah flipped a few pages of her book and couldn’t help but
chuckle.
“She just got accepted as Mr. Hockney’s student, and now this happens. I bet he’s seriously reconsidering whether he still wants her.”
If things went this way, Ariel might not even have a future in the aerospace field anymore. She wouldn’t even be worthy of working for Nancy.

“No idea,” Nancy replied coolly. “But Chad definitely dropped her. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Mr. Hockney follows suit.”
This was what happened when Ariel tried to climb the ladder by clinging to men. In the end, she just dug her own
grave.
“If that’s the case, I doubt the Larkin family would let her hold onto the Mrs. Larkin title either. No way they’d let her tarnish their name.”
Sarah sneered. “She’s probably one step away from being abandoned completely.”
Nancy didn’t answer.
If it weren’t for Betty, Jayson would have cut Ariel loose long ago. Nancy knew that better than anyone. That was why she never once saw Ariel as a real threat.
Just as she was about to stand up, her phone rang. She glanced at the screen.
It was a landline number. Without thinking much of it, she answered, “Hello, who’s this?”
A clipped voice came through. “Is this Ms. Nancy Stanton? This is the Eastgate Police Department. We’re currently investigating a case involving the leak of Faye Technologies trade secret. You’ve been listed as a person of interest. Please report to our office for questioning at 3:00 pm today.”
Nancy’s face went pale.
Ariel had filed a criminal report?
