Chapter 383
Nancy sat frozen for a few seconds before she snapped back to reality. Frowning, she replied, “Alright.”
With that, she ended the call.
Her face had gone pale. The whole thing had happened so suddenly.
Faye Technologies and Ariel actually went to the police? Why?
“What’s wrong?” Sarah asked, noticing how pale Nancy looked.
Nancy pressed her lips together and stood. “The police called. They said I’m implicated in a case involving the leak of Faye Tech’s trade secret. I have to go in for questioning.
Sarah’s expression shifted. “You mean Terrance’s case? How did it suddenly become a trade secret leak? Wasn’t this supposed to be Veyo suing Ariel?”
“I don’t know. I really don’t.” Nancy ran a hand through her hair, trying to steady herself. “Something’s off. I think there could be a twist.”
Since Veyo Solutions began engaging Faye Technologies regarding the plagiarism issue, the latter hadn’t done any public relations work at all. They let the situation spiral unchecked.
Everyone in the industry had started assuming the silence meant guilt–that they were trying to quietly ride out the scandal.
Nancy suddenly thought of something. She checked Faye Technologies‘ official page on her phone.
Sure enough, they had just posted a confirmation of the police report, along with a hard–line statement vowing to pursue the matter to the very end.
The statement directly accused Veyo Solutions of likely obtaining Faye Technologies‘ code and parts of its technical proposal through illegal means, channels, or personnel.
Nancy’s face darkened.
So they had been secretly preparing all along.
“Will the police report affect you? Wasn’t it Faye Tech that plagiarized? How did it suddenly turn into a trade secret leak?” Sarah was clearly unsettled.
With a cold expression, she continued, “I swear, Ariel is doing this just to drag your name through the mud.”
Nancy’s mind was a mess. Frowning, she said, “I’ll go handle this first.”
She hurried out the door. On the way, she called Jayson.
He answered, calm and steady as always, “I saw Faye Tech’s statement.”
Nancy rubbed at her forehead. “Jayson, I think I just got blindsided. The police are calling me in for questioning.‘
Jayson was probably in the middle of something. There was a pause on the other end before he replied, “Go hear
them out first. You’ll be fine.”
Hearing him say that brought her some comfort. As long as Jayson said it was fine, then it had to be fine.
Besides, Faye Technologies was the one who plagiarized. What did that have to do with her?

The process at the police department was complicated.
But in the middle of it all, Nancy was hit with unexpected news. Terrance had disappeared.
The police officers told her he was unreachable.
Nancy’s stomach dropped. Her fingers curled into a tight fist. A wave of dread washed over her.
Something was very wrong.
Why would Terrance disappear right now of all times?
“Faye Technologies has submitted evidence disproving your claim that the base code and partial technical proposal came from your engineer.
“If the subsequent investigation finds that Veyo Solutions leaked trade secrets, committed defamation and infringement, and caused significant financial damage to Faye Technologies…”
After a pause, the officer continued, “As the lead executive, if you participated or issued directives without full verification of the facts, you may be held legally accountable and face criminal charges.
“So Ms. Stanton, we’ll need you to stay available for further questioning and be prepared to appear if summoned.”
Nancy’s expression collapsed. Her lips turned pale.
